The Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) are the most sought after courses in Nepal and around the globe. Every year thousands of Nepali students who have completed their 10+2 or equivalent compete in the entrance exam to pursue Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) programs in various universities of Nepal.
As the engineering entrance exams are are highly competitive, passing the exam alone may not guarantee the admission in the best engineering campuses/colleges of Nepal.
Bachelor of Engineering (B.E)
The Bachelor of Engineering is a Four Years Eight Semesters program offered by various universities of Nepal. Currently, six universities namely Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, Purbanchal University, Pokhara University, Mid-Western University, and Far-Western University offer Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) programs via their 50+ affiliated colleges.
Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch)
The Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) is a five years course that aims to provide systematic knowledge and skills in the planning, design, and conservation of buildings and other physical artifacts. Currently, ten constituent and affiliated campuses/colleges of Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu University, and Pokhara University offer this program.
Eligibility:
The eligibility criteria vary according to the Universities but generally students who have secured at least 45% or 'C' grade in each subject of 10+2 (with one and/or two paper mathematics) or 45% in Diploma in Engineering or an equivalent course are eligible for the entrance examination.

Bachelor of Engineering (B.E) / Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) Entrance Exam in Nepal
Students must pass the entrance examination to enroll in engineering programs. These entrance exams are generally held on the month of August/September. Generally, the B.E/ B.Arch Entrance examinations consist of questions from different subjects namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English. Some Universities also the questions related to the Engineering Aptitude.
1. Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering (IOE)
Every year Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering (IOE) conducts entrance examination for admission in different B.E / B.Arch programs. The entrance exam applications are generally announced on July and the exam is generally held in the month of August.
Eligibility:
The students with a minimum 'C' Grade in all subjects of 10+2 or a score of 45% in I. Sc. or 10+2 (physical group or biological group with two paper mathematics) or diploma in engineering or an equivalent course recognized by TU are eligible for the entrance examination.

The IOE conducts a Computer Based Examination of two hours-duration. According to the following subjects and marks allocated, the total number of questions in the examination will be 100, among which 40 questions will be of 2 marks each and 60 questions will be of 1 mark each. Only those candidates who pass the entrance examination are deemed eligible for the admission in the constituent and affiliated campuses of Tribhuvan University.

2. Kathmandu University (KU)
Each year Kathmandu University conducts a Computer-Based Test (CBT) called Kathmandu University Common Admission Test (KUCAT) for the admission in BE/B.Arch programs. The candidates are offered admission based on rank in KUCAT result in all merit seats and in the quota seats. KU CAT exam is generally held on the month of June.
Eligibility:
Candidates must have passed 10+2 (or equivalent) examinations with minimum
- 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) Or
- 2.4 CGPA in aggregate and minimum 'C+' in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and minimum 'C' in other subjects.
Kathmandu University School of Engineering, the constituent campus of Kathmandu University offers B. Arch, BE Civil, BE Electrical and Electronics, BE Mechanical, BE Chemical, BE Computer, and BE Geomatic programs.
3. Pokhara University (PU)
Pokhara University and its constituent and affiliated campuses/colleges conduct entrance exam for admission in BE/B.Arch programs. Candidates who have completed 10+2 Science/Intermediate Level Science/Diploma in Engineering or Equivalent as recognize by Pokhara University with minimum 45% or second division/ "C" Grade in each subject on grade 11 and 12 are eligible to appear entrance examination.
The selection will be based on the merit of the entrance examination. The entrance test consists of questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English.

4. Purbanchal University (PoU)
The entrance exam is mandatory for admissions in Bachelor of Engineering (BE) programs offered by Purbanchal University. Purbanchal University offers BE Civil, BE Computer, BE Electrical, BE Electronics and Communication, and BE Biomedical engineering.
Eligibility:
Students who have secured minimum 'C+' grade in aggregate and minimum 'C' grade in each subject in 10+2 or equivalent examinations can appear in the entrance examinations in order to get admission.

Mid West University School of Engineering conducts entrance examinations for the enrollment in Bachelor of Engineering programs offered by the University. MWU offers BE Civil, BE Computer, and BE Hydropower.
Eligibility:
Students must have completed 10+2 or Diploma in Engineering or Equivalent in Physical science or Biological science with a minimum 'C' grade in all subjects of 10+2 or have secured 45%.
The 3 hours entrance exam comprises of questions from English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Engineering Drawing.
6. Far-Western University (FWU)
Far Western University School of Engineering offers Bachelor of Civil Engineering. The entrance exam is a must for admission in this program.
Eligibility:
Students who have completed 10+2 or A Level or Diploma in Engineering or equivalent with minimum 45 % or minimum 'C' grade in all subjects of Grade 11 and 12 are eligible to appear in the entrance examination.
