The Bachelor of Civil Engineering (BE Civil) course is designed to produce engineers who are capable of designing, planning and executing construction of infrastructures. Civil Engineering, considered one of the oldest engineering disciplines, encompasses many specialties. The major specialties within civil engineering and structural, water resources, environmental, construction, transportation and geotechnical engineering.

BE Civil course of Purbanchal University is a four-year (eight semesters), 194 credit hours academic program that incorporates intensive laboratory assignments to give enough exposure and experience with the state-of-the-art facilities and tools.

Objectives:

  1. To provide in-depth knowledge in designing and construction of infrastructures such as tunnels, bridges, roads, dams, hydro power and buildings.
  2. Provide insight about the impact of engineering solutions in a global, economic, environmental and social context.
  3. Motivate students for research in recent technologies for future development.
  4. Develop entrepreneurship skills.

Eligibility

Must have secured C+ Grade in all subjects in +2 or equivalent 

Fee

The fees for the BE Civil program at Purbanchal University's constituent campuses are divided into three categories based on student status:

  • HSTFC Reserved (Highly Subsidized Tuition Fee Category – Reserved) students, who receive the highest level of fee subsidy, pay a one-time fee of Rs. 10,200 only at the time of first semester admission. No further tuition fee is charged for the remaining seven semesters.
  • HSTFC Open (Highly Subsidized Tuition Fee Category – Open) students, who receive a partial subsidy, pay Rs. 25,200 in the first semester and Rs. 15,000 per semester for the remaining seven semesters, totaling Rs. 1,30,200 over the four-year program.
  • FTFC (Full Tuition Fee Category) students, who pay the full tuition fee without any subsidy, pay Rs. 83,200 in the first semester and Rs. 73,000 per semester for the remaining seven semesters, totaling Rs. 5,94,200 over the four years.

In addition to the fees outlined above, students should note the following:

  • Registration & Exam Form Fee: Registration fee and exam form fee are not included in the above fee structure and are charged separately as per Purbanchal University norms.

Job Prospects

Career Options:

Spurred by general population growth and an increased emphasis on infrastructure and security, more civil engineers will be needed to design and construct safe and higher capacity transportation, water supply and pollution control systems and large buildings and building complexes. They also will be needed to repair or replace existing roads, bridges and other public structures.

Civil engineers are employed by firms providing architectural, engineering and related services, primarily developing designs for new construction projects. They may also work in consultancy, research and teaching.
