Situated in between the Heart of Capital, it has been providing Undergraduate and Graduate Level of Technical Education. looking back, Thapathali Campus is the first Institute in Nepal Providing Engineering Degrees and technology training since 1930 AD.
Today Thapathali Campus Stands as a pioneer institute for Bachelor Level of Engineering Degrees. Bachelor Level Degrees run for 4 years, under completion of which you will be honored as an Engineer. In Bachelor level, Thapathali Campus is offering BE Civil Engineering (96 Seats), BE Electronics, Communication & Information Engineering (48 Seats), BE Mechanical Engineering (48 Seats) Automobile Engineering, BE Industrial Engineering (48 Seats), BE Computer Engineering and Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) program. Thapathali Campus is the only campus in Nepal that offers Automobile Engineering and Industrial Engineering.
Thapathali Campus Offers Wide range of training and capacity building skills. it also offers Hostel for students from remote villages. Similarly, Stipend , awards, and honours are provided for Outstanding Students. It offers huge range of Scholarship offered under basis of Entrance Exam Taken By IOE.

Campus Chief
Thapathali Campus, located at the center of Kathmandu city, was established in 2023 B.S. to develop middle level manpower in the field mechanical and automobile engineering. It is one of the constituent campus of Institute of Engineering under Tribhuvan University, which upgraded its programs to bachelor and master level along the course of time. Campus offers bachelor degree programs in industrial engineering, civil engineering, electronics & communication engineering, mechanical engineering, architecture and automobile engineering and master degree program in earthquake engineering.
With the upgradation to higher level of courses, the need to adopt the recent technological development and to initiate research and development activities to better cope with related engineering problems, Thapathali Campus is committed to achieve better quality results.
I would like to express my deep sense of gratitude to all the teachers, staffs and students for their tireless effort and precious time in development of this campus. It’s my great pleasure and privilege to work as a team with the students, staff and teachers of this campus and I hope that it will continue in future.

Library
Thapathali Campus has a library with 30,792 books, manuals and the photocopies of the important documents and papers.
Laboratory
Thapathali Campus has brick Laying, Carpentry, Plumbing, Electrical, Auto mobile, Basic Machine, Fabrication, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering Materials(Soil), Hydraulics, Water Supply, Surveying, Mechanics and Computer laboratories.
Hostel
The hostel of Thapathali Campus accommodates 69 students, who come from outside Kathmandu and study in the campus.
Sport Facilities
Sport facilities at Thapathali Campus includes a volleyball court, a table-tennis hall and a badminton court.
In each academic year Institute of Engineering (IOE) conducts entrance examination; only those candidate who pass the entrance examination are deemed eligible for the admission. These eligible candidates can get admitted to any of the constituent and affiliated colleges according to the admission process followed by corresponding college. The admission process practiced by the constituent colleges is the same.
Each year IOE publishes a help book along with the announcement of entrance examination of that year. This book contains all the required information for an interested candidate to appear in the exam an finally get admitted to any of the constituent or affiliated colleges. This book also contains the current intake capacity of each of the colleges.
