The Entrance Examination Board-2083, Institute of Engineering, Tribhuvan University, has published an urgent notice regarding the entrance examination. Due to technical reasons requiring an amendment to the schedule of the IOE Bachelor Level (B.E./B.Arch) Entrance Examination 2083, and in accordance with the decision of the IOE Academic Council dated Asar 2, 2083, the IOE Entrance Examination Board 2083 has published this revised schedule, amending the entrance examination schedule as detailed below.

Tribhuvan University, Institute of Engineering, Entrance Examination Board has published a notice for the information of everyone concerned that the computer-based entrance examination, for admission to various undergraduate programs (B.E./B.Arch.) for the academic year 2083/084 in the constituent campuses and affiliated colleges under the Institute of Engineering (IOE), Tribhuvan University (T.U.), will be conducted from Ashar 28, 2083 at the Institute of Engineering, Information and Communication Technology Center (ICTC), Pulchowk Lalitpur; Paschimanchal Campus, Pokhara; Purbanchal Campus, Dharan; and Thapathali Campus, Thapathali, Kathmandu, according to the designated location, time, and shift.

As of 2025, the total enrollment capacity for the BE and B.Arch programs at the five constituent campuses of Tribhuvan University is 2,040. Additionally, TU has affiliated 10 engineering colleges with a combined enrollment capacity of 2,304. This brings the total annual intake capacity under TU to 4,344 students.

Applicants must deposit the entrance examination fee by 3:00 PM on 2083/03/17 (Ashar 17, 2083). The application form must be completely filled out by 5:00 PM on the same day.
Eligibility
Students who have passed the Proficiency Certificate Level or Higher Secondary Level or A Level or Engineering Diploma Level or equivalent examination with at least 45% of the total marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in Class 11 and 12 and have obtained a minimum C Grade in each subject in the Final Grade (in case of NEB) are eligible to apply and participate in the entrance examination.
Students who have appeared in the final examination of Class 12 or equivalent or in the sixth semester examination of Engineering Diploma are also eligible to apply.
Foreign nationals are eligible to apply only for the full-fee program. In the constituent campuses operated under the Institute of Engineering (IOE), a number of seats equivalent to 1/12th of the total full-fee seats in the full-fee program have been reserved for foreign nationals.
Information Regarding Entrance Exams and Admissions
The entrance exam, conducted through a computer-based method utilizing information technology, will consist of objective-type questions. There will be 100 questions, and 10% of the marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
According to the syllabus published by the IOE Entrance Exam Board, the computer-based entrance exam will be two hours long and cover subjects such as English, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry.

Instructions to follow while filling the Application Form
When filling out the application form, applicants must comply with the given instructions and provide the following mandatory information:
Applicant's details: Applicant's or father's/mother's name, date of birth, permanent address, SLC / SEE and I.Sc. / 10+2 / A level / Engg. Diploma or equivalent result details must be filled in. Additionally, a recently taken 350×350 Pixel color digital photo with a clear view and easily recognizable face on a plain background must be uploaded. (Other photo sizes will not be accepted.)
When filling out the online form, upload a scanned copy of any one identity proof that includes your photo and signature (e.g., citizenship certificate, national identity card, driving license, passport, I.Sc. / 10+2 / Engg. Diploma final year/semester exam admit card) with its number mentioned.
Since the number of examinees is limited for each date, location, and shift, the applicant must select their preferred exam date, location, and shift when filling out the form. Once an exam date, location, and shift are confirmed, they cannot be changed.
After submitting the online exam form, immediately print the Acknowledgement Page. On this Acknowledgement Page, if your name is not listed for the date, location, and shift you selected, you must contact the Entrance Examination Board by 1:00 PM on Ashadh 23,2083.
From Ashadh 26,2083 onwards, admit cards will be made available online in a phased manner according to the examinees' dates. This admit card must be downloaded and color printed. It is mandatory to have this admit card to participate in the examination.
When coming for the entrance examination, along with the admit card, it is mandatory to bring the original identity document (ID) mentioned in point (2) with your photograph.
Quota Information
Candidates wishing to enroll in various quotas and reserved seats (such as women's quota, teacher/staff quota, inclusive disadvantaged reservation quota, reserved seats for government and government-owned institutions, and reserved seats for foreign nationals) at affiliated campuses must prepare all necessary documents as specified in the "Detailed Information on Entrance Exams and Campus Admissions—2083" before the commencement of the IOE campus college admission schedule.
