What after SEE?

Secondary Education Examination (SEE) (previously known as SLC) is arguably the most popuedular examination of Nepal. SEE is also homologous with the title "iron gate" probably because it opens the door for higher education here in Nepal.

The student's performance in each course is documented on their permanent academic record. The evaluation of the student's success will be based on how well they meet the specific objectives of the course. Grades lower than C+ are not deemed acceptable for students aspiring to enroll in reputable plus two colleges. Therefore, if a student receives a low grade, they have the opportunity to take a re-examination to enhance their grade.

As soon as you are done with SEE, you have to get the clarification of further studies regarding the selection of courses and the college. The course you pursue after SEE will decide what you will be in the future. For example, if you aspire to be a doctor then you should enroll in Ten Plus Two Science or Equivalent with Biology as one of the major subjects. If you want to be a Manager or Chartered Accountant (CA) then you can opt for either Ten Plus Two in Management or Ten Plus Two Science or their equivalents.

GCE A Level (Science and Non-Science)

The General Certificate of Education (GCE) 'AS' and 'A' Levels of Cambridge University, is one of the most recognized qualifications for secondary level education globally.

The course is usually studied over a two year period as an Advanced Subsidiary (AS) level and Advanced (A or A2) level. 'A' Level is equivalent to the Secondary (10+2) / two-year Intermediate level studies or PCL/Diploma Level in Nepal. Students can enroll in Medical/ Engineering Colleges or pursue higher education in Management, IT, Pure Sciences or Social Sciences after the completion of this course.

The course is offered in two streams:

The Science stream consists of Physical Group (with Core subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics), and Biological Group (with Core subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology). Similarly, the Non-Science stream consists of Management Group (with Core subjects: Accounting, Business, and Economics) and Humanities Group (with Core subjects: Economics, Sociology ,and Psychology).

Apart from these core papers, all students are required to give the examination of English (General Paper). Students can also choose one course according to their interest.
