Certificate & Diploma Entrance Exam: CTEVT

The entrance exam question paper will be based on the SEE curriculum. It will contain 20 compulsory English questions, 25 Math questions, and 25 Science questions, totaling 70 objective multiple-choice questions. The total exam duration will be 1 hour and 45 minutes.

The written exam will have a total of 70 marks, and candidates will receive an additional 30 marks based on their SLC, SEE, or TSLC exam results. The marks distribution will be as follows; 

Candidates' merit list will be determined based on the total marks obtained in the entrance exam and the educational qualification marks as per clause 11(a) of the directives.

To pass the entrance exam, a candidate must obtain a minimum of 35 marks, which includes marks from the entrance exam and educational qualification marks as per clause 11(a) of the directives.

Other Guidelines about Entrance Exam

  • In the case of two or more candidates having equal marks, the scores will be calculated up to more than two decimal places, and the candidate with the higher score will be published.
  • If the scores remain equal even after calculating up to more than two decimal places, the results of the SLC/SEE exam will be used as a basis.
  • If the SLC/SEE results are also equal, the results of compulsory Math, Science, and English subjects of the SLC/SEE exam will be used as the basis in that order.
  • If the scores are still equal as per clause 11(c) of the directives, preference will be given to candidates who have passed the SEE from government or community schools.
  • If the scores remain equal as per clause 11(f) of the directives, preference will be given to the older candidate based on the date of birth.
  • To convert the GPA to a percentage for letter-graded results, the following formula will be used: GPA × 23.75 = %
  • The sub-committee mentioned in clause 19 of the "Diploma and Certificate Level Entrance Exam Conduct, Scholarship Distribution, and Admission Related Directives 2081" will manage and publish the results of the entrance exams for all classified (free) scholarship programs in the council's provincial offices. The duties, responsibilities, and authorities of this sub-committee will be as specified in clause 21.
  • The respective council provincial offices will prepare the results using the above methods, publish the results based on the highest scores according to the prioritized educational institutions, recommend for admission, and publish the results on the council's provincial offices, examination control office, and council website.

Instruction for the Applicants 

  1. Candidates must carefully read and follow the instructions given in the answer sheet. 
  2. Candidates must mandatorily mention the set number provided in their question paper on the answer sheet. Failure to do so will result in automatic disqualification.
  3. If a candidate marks any symbol other than the specified one in their answer sheet, their exam will be automatically disqualified. 
  4. OMR machines will be used to evaluate answer sheets of entrance exams for classified (free) scholarship programs. 
  5. Candidates must fill one of the two circles with a black gel pen in the specified section to indicate the set. No marks will be awarded for answer sheets with an unspecified set. If the question paper is set A, fill circle A; if set B, fill circle B with a black gel pen.
  6. If multiple answers are marked or answers are scratched out, such answers will be automatically disqualified.
