For every student who passed SEE or guardians looking for best +2 institutions, it can be a stressful task to figure out the best college. Himal Magazine has published a list of top 32 Secondary Schools in terms of quality (result-output). The list was prepared by doing extensive research and assessment of each school in order to rank them.
Himal Magazine has only listed 32 top Secondary Schools out of thousands of Secondary Schools that operate in Nepal today. The criteria of the Secondary School to be listed in top 32, is that it must enroll at least 30 students, it should secure more than 80% pass percentage in the last five years and also should have minimum 2.41 GPA. Likewise, Secondary Schools that have been able to get 80% of its students of grade 12 to get a passed result have been selected to be enlisted.
In this current year, 2019, out of 32 Secondary Schools, 13 of them are located in outside valley. This reflects the dynamic changes in the academic excellence that is provided elsewhere other than capital city. It is a progress of decentralization of quality and efficient education.
Few of the Secondary Schools that had previously made into the top 32 have not been included in this year's ranking, as they have failed to have 80% passed rate of students with minimum 2.41 GPA. Schools such as National School of Sciences (Kathmandu), Little Angels School (Lalitpur), Nobel Academy (Kathmandu), Araniko Awasiya School (Morang), Saint Mary's Secondary School (Nayagaun, Kaski), and SOS Hermann Geminer (Kavre) haven't been able to secure their position in the current 2019 list.
In contrast, some of the schools which were not in the list in previous year such as National Secondary School (Balkumari, Lalitpur), Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya (Pokhara, Kaski), Bijeshwori Gyan Mandir Sainik Mahavidyalaya (Kathmandu), SOS Hermann Geminer (Birendranagar, Surkhet), and The New Summit Secondary School (Old Baneshwor, Kathmandu) have made their way into being featured in this year's list.
