ABOUT

SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Gandaki, located at a tranquil environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city at Pokhara-15, Rambazar, and run under its umbrella organization SOS Kinderdorf International, is a not-for-profit educational organization and has been imparting quality education to the children from SOS Children’s Village Gandaki and the children from socially and economically backward strata since 1982 AD.

So the student composition is multi-pronged ranging from children on scholarship, children from SOS Childre's Village Gandaki, children of staff to the children on fee paying basis. Being a social service not-for-profit organization, it has been continuously providing its services to the society imparting quality education on affordable fees.

We are guided by what the founder of SOS Children’s Villages has said: “All the children of the world are our children”.

Salient Features

Library

SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Gandaki has managed a resourceful library combined with e-library with attractive interiors. It facilitates access to information for knowledge, education and training through various resources ranging from printed to e-materials. It possesses sufficient number of text books, reference books, novels, magazines, newspapers, journals and so on.

Computer Lab

Computer education has been a prime focus of this era of information and technology. In order to prepare our students for technical competency and future professionalism, the school has set up a well-equipped computer lab with unlimited internet facility in a separate location. Students are encouraged to use the computer and internet in preparing assignment, doing research work and collecting relevant study materials.

Science Laboratories

The SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Gandaki has set up advanced and highly technological laboratories for practical classes on Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics in consideration of the fact that the students actively participate in learning when they understand the relevance of the lesson on regular basis. In doing so, they get a chance to communicate their thinking that reflects on their experience and apply knowledge and skill to the world around them.

Audio Visual Hall

SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Gandaki has a well ventilated spacious tech friendly audio visual lab to conduct workshops, seminars and trainings in order to enhance professionalism and different life skills in our students.

Dispensary

We have a standard dispensary to offer first aid treatment to our students and staff in need from a medical professional.
