SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Kavre (SOS HGH Kavre) is a nonprofit academic institution committed to enhance quality education in the nation. It is an appendage organization of SOS Children’s Villages Nepal, which in turn is the Nepali Unit of SOS Kinderdorf International, a charitable organization dedicated to supporting the destitute and orphan children in more than 135 nations of the world.

ABOUT

Established in 1998 in a pleasant open space of Shreekhandapur, Panauti — 2, Kavre District, Nepal; SOS Hermann Gmeiner Secondary School Kavre (SOS HGHSSK) takes its name from the founder of the SOS Children's Villages International, a not-for- profit- organization which has been extending its services for the cause of needy children around the world. SOS Children's Villages International supports those children and youths who have lost parental care or are on the verge of losing it due to various reasons by offering them adequate family care and quality education.

SOS Hermann Gmeiner School-Kavre is located in Kavre District. This school got 11th position in the Top Plus two colleges of Nepal , a ranking done by Himal Magazine. 

The major purpose of this school is to offer quality and relevant education from nursery to standard 12 (management stream) to the children/ youths living in the SOS families and to the ones from its neighboring localities. This school tries to ensure that no child is deprived of schooling and education because of his/her social and financial status, and therefore considerable number of children/youths are enrolled here under scholarship schemes.

The school has a strong team of academic and ancillary staff members and thus it has been extending praiseworthy support in the progress of all students in their educational as well as behavioral, social, emotional and spiritual dimensions.

 


Admission Guidelines

Admission

SOS Hermann Gmeiner Secondary School ensures and promotes the culture of educational excellence and maintains ‘equity and inclusion’ policy. The school welcomes applications from students irrespective of caste, race, religion, place of birth etc. Equally, our school considers the norms prescribed by the prevailing laws and regulations for admission process of Government of Nepal. The Admission Committee decides the admission of students and scholarship assistance through proper assessment and study.

In general, admission is granted only in class Nursery and Eleven. Admission is announced in other classes only if vacancies are created. Admission notice is usually published in school notice board, local newspaper, official Facebook page, etc. before the new academic session resumes. All the students pursuing admission in the school at any levels (except class nursery), need to appear written tests and an interview.
