With future plans to expand, NIST aims to introduce Arts and Humanities courses for Grade 11-12. Eventually, their ultimate goal is to provide comprehensive education from Pre-school to Grade 12, all within the National Institute of Science, in the coming years. The NIST Foundation was established by a group of scientists and academicians.
NIST has consistently prioritized the academic excellence of its students, promoting an environment of innovation and collaboration. Consequently, the students consistently achieve exceptional results in board examinations. Presently, numerous alumni of NIST have established themselves in esteemed professions and businesses, both domestically and internationally. Core values are the central beliefs and behavioral norms which are expected to be clearly understood and shared by every member of the school community – school leaders, teachers, administrative staff, and students. We believe in and are guided by these values in our actions, behavior, and in undertaking decisions. We also firmly believe that the core values play a vital role in the development of each child’s social consciousness, emotional development, and character building.
Study Room
The classrooms are generously sized, providing ample space to accommodate up to thirty-six students. The selection of student furniture is carefully considered to ensure optimal comfort and proper seating posture, considering the extended hours students spend in the classroom. Additionally, each classroom is equipped with a permanent projector and offers high-speed internet connectivity, facilitating the integration of technology as a valuable tool for teaching and learning within the classroom environment.
Extra Activities
NIST offers a wide range of integrated activities that promote holistic student development. A dedicated hour focuses on emotional, social, physical, artistic, creative, and spiritual growth. Students engage in hands-on projects, develop essential life skills, and cultivate leadership abilities. Various clubs organize major events throughout the academic year, showcasing their activities.
School Management Information System
The school employs an effective Management Information System (MIS) to manage students' profiles, academic and non-academic activities. Each student is assigned a unique account for accessing the MIS, which enhances school management, improves the learning experience, and keeps parents informed about their child's safety and progress. Communication with students and parents is facilitated through email, mobile apps, and other channels, while students can access online learning resources provided by teachers and the school administration.
Transportation
The school offers transportation services to students who need bus service for their daily commute. The service is available within a maximum radius of ten kilometers. However, students must apply for the bus service at the time of admission.
Health Care
The school offers first aid services to students during school hours. Minor injuries and illnesses are addressed at the school infirmary, while in the event of a major injury, immediate transportation to the nearest hospital is arranged, with parents/guardians notified accordingly. It is important to note that in such cases, parents/students are responsible for covering the medical expenses.
Deposition of Mobile Phone
To ensure a positive learning environment, students are required to securely store their smartphones in designated compartments for safekeeping. Bringing smartphones to the classroom is strictly forbidden, and if a student is found in possession of a smartphone, regardless of its use, it will be confiscated until the end of the academic session. To retrieve their smartphones, students are provided tokens that can be reclaimed once all classes for the day are completed.
Uniforms and Stationeries
All students are required to comply with the school's prescribed uniform consisting of a shirt, pants, tie, and coat. In addition to the regular uniform, students are given a house T-shirt to wear during extracurricular activities (ECAs) at the school. Specifics about the uniform will be provided upon admission. Furthermore, the school provides books and necessary stationery items for the convenience of the students.
