Pokhara University Bachelor Level Scholarships Exam

Pokhara University administers a scholarship exam to select candidates for scholarships in the Faculties of Science and Technology, Management, and Humanities and Social Sciences. 

In 2024, Pokhara University allocated 1,299 scholarship quotas across its various faculties. Specifically, 490 scholarship seats are designated for programs under the Faculty of Science and Technology, 770 seats are assigned to programs under the Faculty of Management Studies, and 39 seats are reserved for programs under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The exam is written (objective type) and lasts for 3 hours. The scholarship selection exam will be out of 150 marks. A minimum of 40% must be achieved to pass the entrance exam.

The syllabus content for the entrance exam varies depending on the faculty and group. The groups as the programs are as follows: 

Faculty of Science and Technology (Group A)

1. Bachelor of Computer Engineering (BE Computer)
2. Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch)
3. Bachelor of Civil Engineering (BE Civil)
4. Bachelor of Civil and Rural Engineering (BE Civil and Rural)
5. Bachelor of Electronics and Communication Engineering (BE Elx. and Comm.)
6. Bachelor of Software Engineering (BE Software)
7. Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology (BE IT)
8. Bachelor of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (BE Ele. and Elx.)
9. Bachelor of Civil Engineering for Diploma Holders.

Faculty of Science and Technology (Group B)

1. Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA)
2. Bachelor of Science in Environment Management (B.Sc. Env. Mgmt.)

Faculty of Management 

1. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
2. Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance) (BBA- Finance)
3. Bachelor of Computer System and Information Technology (BCSIT)
4. Bachelor of HealthCare Management (BHCM)
5. Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM)
6. Bachelor of Business Administration in Travel and Tourism (BBA-TT)

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences 

Group A

(c) Mathematics - 40 marks
(d) English - 30 marks

For applicants under the Faculty of Management and  Group "B" of the Faculty of Science and Technology, the examination will cover:

(a) English - 40 marks
(b) Quantitative Ability - 40 marks
(c) Logical Reasoning - 40 marks
(d) General Awareness - 30 marks

For applicants under Group "A" of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, applying for:

  1. Bachelor of Development Studies (BDEVS)
  2. Bachelor of Entrepreneurship Development (BED)

The examination will cover:

(a) English - 40 marks

For applicants under Group "C" applying for: Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Laws (B.A.LL.B)

The examination will cover:

(a) English Language Proficiency (Grammar, Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension/Passage) - 30 marks

(b) Logical Reasoning - 30 marks

(c) Basic Knowledge of Law (Constitution, Jurisprudence, Civil Law, Criminal Law, Environmental Law, Family Law, etc.) - 30 marks

(d) Basic Knowledge of Liberal Arts (Sociology, Economics, Political Science) - 30 marks

(e) General Knowledge - 30 marks
