Among the scholarship quotas (excluding local scholarship and the quota for children of teachers and staff), 60% of the quota will be open and 40% will be reserved for the differently-abled, martyrs, people's movement injured victims, GenZ movement injured and differently-abled persons, remote area candidates, Dalits, indigenous nationalities, and Madhesi communities. Both open and reserved quotas will maintain a 50/50 scholarship ratio for women.
According to the Pokhara University Scholarship Regulations, 2065, candidates will be eligible for the university's free scholarship quotas only if they:
- Studied in a public school for at least Grades 6 to 10;
- Are included in the merit list prepared under Rule 13(2); and

Based on these criteria, the university will publish the First Awarded List and award scholarships accordingly.

The vacant seat will be awarded to a candidate of the same gender and scholarship category as the unfilled scholarship.
If seats still remain vacant after the first and second rounds, the university will invite applications through the Schedule 4 online form from candidates who completed and passed SLC/SEE from either public or private schools and are included in the merit list. Scholarships will then be awarded according to the rules applicable to the open category, and a Third Awarded List will be published.
After the publication of the Third Awarded List, all scholarship allocation and admission processes related to these scholarships will be considered complete.
The candidates who have studied in public schools (other than those who have studied from grades 6 to 10) and institutional schools and have passed the SEE or SLC examination do not need to submit any type of recommendation letter other than the specified documents.
