Established in 1962 (2019 B.S.), Mangal Secondary School, formerly known as Mangal Madhyamik Vidyalaya, has a rich history rooted in the cultural and educational landscape of Kirtipur. The school initially operated under humble conditions in a public meeting shade (“Paati”) at Wahi Bahal before relocating to Chilancho Bihar. Despite facing challenges from environmental conditions and religious activities, the school's journey of growth and resilience continued.
A significant milestone came when the then head of the local village Panchayat, Mr. Dwarika Maharjan, provided 26 ropanies of land in Kirtipur-3, laying the foundation for the school's development. Over the years, various organizations, including Plan International Nepal and the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Midtown, contributed to building the school's infrastructure. Today, Mangal Secondary School boasts well-equipped classrooms, a playground with volleyball and basketball courts, and modern facilities, ensuring a conducive learning environment for students.
Located in Kirtipur-3, Naya Bazar, Kathmandu, Mangal Secondary School remains committed to providing quality education while fostering community engagement and holistic development.
