Gandhi Adarsha Secondary School, established in 2010 BS (1953 AD) by renowned social reformer Tulsi Meher Shrestha, is a distinguished community-based institution located in Kadaghari, Kageshwari Manohara Municipality, Kathmandu. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s philosophy of peace, empowerment, and education, the school was initially founded to provide education and vocational training for marginalized women, laying a foundation for social change and upliftment. In affiliation with the National Examination Board (NEB), it offers ten plus two programs in Management, Education and Humanities.
The school was approved for secondary-level education in 2018 BS (1961 AD) and has produced academically capable and socially responsible graduates since 2019 BS (1962 AD). In 2060 BS (2004 AD), the institution proudly celebrated its Golden Jubilee, marking over five decades of commitment to excellence and community service.
Strategically located just 9 km east of Ratnapark and accessible via the Koteshwar-Jadibuti route, the school sits in the peaceful plains of the Kathmandu Valley, close to the Manohara River and near the Nepal Charkha Pracharak Gandhi Smarak Mahaguthi, a center named after its visionary founder.
