Tribhuvan University launched a four-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) course under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in the academic year 2076/077. Since its inception, the number of colleges offering the BA program and the seats available for enrollment have increased significantly.
As of 2024, 254 colleges, including public, community, and private institutions, are offering the BA program.
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) program at Purbanchal University is designed to enhance students' conceptual and theoretical understanding, as well as their methodological skills in various subjects. Upon completion of this course, students acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills of a recognized standard, enabling them to pursue careers in a multitude of professions, including teaching, journalism, consultancy, social work activism, NGOs, INGOs, and government organizations.

If the applicant wants to study any subject other then the one s/he has majored in BA, s/he may opt for Nepalese History, Culture and Archaeology, Rural Development, Political Science, Library Science, Sociology, Anthropology, Maithali, History, Nepal Bhasa, Strategies Studies, Geography, Conflict, Peace and Development Studies, Population Studies and Buddhist Studies.
In case of MA in English, Nepali and Sanskrit, applicants who have majored in the respective subjects from other faculties only may apply for admissions.
