Shankharapur Polytechnic Institute (SPI) was founded in 2016 with the aim of providing high-quality technical and vocational education and training (TVET) across the country. As a constituent institute of the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), which is the national autonomous apex body of the TEVT sector, SPI is located 17 km Northeast of Kathmandu. The institute offers a serene and peaceful learning environment with easy accessibility from the capital city.
SPI offers various 3-year diploma courses, including Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering specializing in Hydropower, Geomatics Engineering, Automobile Engineering, and Architecture Engineering. Additionally, the institute conducts annual short-term courses both within its premises and in collaboration with local stakeholders and authorities in nearby areas. These short-term courses, such as Beautician, Masonry, Carpentry, Barista, Plumbing, and more, provide valuable academic and practical experiences to students, making them job-ready.
To facilitate learning, SPI is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, ample tools, and equipment, as well as a team of highly skilled and professional instructors. The student-to-instructor ratio is kept significantly low, ensuring students receive the necessary guidance and attention.
