Public Youth Campus, Dhobichaur, Kathmandu, has announced that the BBA T-20 Cricket Tournament will be held from Baisakh 13 2080 (April 26, 2023) to Baisakh 22, 2080 (May 4, 2023).
The responsibility of managing the competition has been given to Sunil Thapa, the manager of Man Can Do. He has also announced that 20 BBA colleges, which are affiliated with Tribhuvan University (TU), will participate in the competition.
The competition will take place at Pulchowk Engineering Campus and will be a ten-day knockout tournament. Balram Thapa, the Head of Public Youth Campus, expressed confidence that all participating colleges will compete excellently.
"Man Can Do" will manage the competition that has been regularly held for the last ten years. The competition winner will receive a trophy and a cash prize of NRs.90,000, while the runner-up will receive NRs.40,000 in cash. The tournament's outstanding player will receive NRs.10,000, and the best batsman and bowler will each receive NRs.5,000. Additionally, the organizer has declared special prizes for the Player of the Match. The competition will feature ten colleges each from Group A and Group B.
Both groups will have a knockout competition, with the winner of Group A facing the winner of Group B for the championship title. In Group A, Public Youth Campus will compete against Birendra Multiple Campus of Chitwan, Patan Multiple Campus will compete against IMS College, Mahendra Morang Adarsh Multiple Campus of Biratnagar will compete against Shankar Dev Campus, People's Campus will compete against Mahendra Multiple Campus of Nepalgunj, and Campion College will compete against Kathford International College.
Group 'B' will have knockout matches as well. In Group 'B', Nepal Commerce Campus will compete against Kantipur College of Management and Information Technology, Janapriya Multiple Campus of Pokhara will compete against Universal College, Bhaktapur Multiple Campus will compete against K and K International College, Kathmandu Model College will compete against Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya, and KIST College will compete against Saraswati Multiple Campus. The organizers have stated that a maximum of 15 players can be on each team.
Sunil Thapa, the manager of 'Man Can Do', stated that the tournament was originally planned to be held at Mulpani Cricket Stadium, but had to be relocated to Pulchowk at the last minute due to participating teams needing to practice for the ongoing ACC Premier Cup in Nepal. The Public Youth team has been the winner of the last three editions.
