Located in Kumarigal, Ward No. 7 of Kathmandu, Shram Rastriya Secondary School is a well-performing community school known for delivering strong academic results despite limited physical infrastructure. Spread over just one ropani of land, the school operates 13 classrooms and manages a high student population of around 800 by running classes in both morning and afternoon shifts.
Established in 2020 BS, the school has made significant progress under the leadership of Principal Narayan Prasad Nepal since 2055 BS. A key academic initiative introduced in 2058 BS, conducting additional classes in English, Mathematics, and Science on Saturdays (except during festivals), has played an important role in improving students’ performance in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).
In recent years, the school has consistently secured outstanding results at the district level, particularly in 2078, 2079, and 2080 BS, earning repeated recognition from the Kathmandu Metropolitan City as a top-performing community school.
Despite space constraints and the absence of a proper playground, the school continues to maintain high educational standards through targeted support classes for academically weak students, “Book Free Friday” initiatives, technology-integrated teaching practices, and the strong commitment of its teaching staff. These efforts highlight the school’s ability to provide quality education even with limited resources.
