Admission Guidelines

Godawari Residential School welcomes students who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute positively to society. The school follows a holistic admission approach, focusing on academic readiness, attitude, and potential.

Step 1: Application & Documentation

To begin the admission process, the applicant must first complete and submit the official application form (online or offline).

After submitting the application form, the following documents are required:

  • Copy of the child’s birth certificate (original or attested photocopy)
  • Official academic reports of the last two years (if applicable)
  • Five recent passport-size photographs
  • Medical record (if available)
  • Transfer certificate from previous school (mandatory from Class 2 onwards)

Once the application and documents are received, the admission process officially begins. Student placement is initially guided by age criteria and further confirmed through assessment and interaction.

Age Criteria (General Placement Guideline)

Students are placed in age-appropriate classes to ensure suitable academic and developmental learning levels:

  • Class 1 – 5.5 years by 31 March
  • Class 2 – 6.5 years by 31 March
  • Class 3 – 7.5 years by 31 March

The school believes that students learn best when placed with peers of similar age, allowing them to engage with appropriate academic and intellectual challenges.

Step 2: Assessment & Interaction

After document submission, students undergo an assessment process for appropriate class placement.

  • An aptitude test is conducted for students applying from Class 3 and above
  • For Classes 3 to 5, assessment focuses on English, Mathematics, and Science
  • For Class 6 and above, evaluation also includes scientific concepts along with core subjects
  • The assessment reflects expected learning outcomes of the previous grade level

The school also prefers a personal interaction with students to understand their interests, learning style, and academic background. Parents may also be invited for discussion when necessary to support appropriate placement.

For students who face difficulty in the aptitude test, further evaluation may be conducted to ensure correct grade placement.

Students applying from outside Lalitpur may submit scanned copies of required documents via email. The school may conduct an online aptitude assessment to evaluate academic readiness.

About Us

Established in 2072 B.S., Godawari Residential School is located in the peaceful area of Godawari, Lalitpur. The school offers education from Grade 1 to Grade 12, providing a complete academic pathway in a calm and supportive learning environment.

At the foundational level, the school follows the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) under the International Curriculum Association, helping students develop inquiry-based learning habits from an early stage. At the +2 level, the school offers Computer Science and Hotel Management, giving students options that combine academic knowledge with practical skills relevant to future careers.

Alongside academics, Godawari Residential School is known for its residential facility, GRS Residence, which is designed as a “home away from home.” The residence provides a safe, structured, and caring environment where students can grow beyond the classroom. It focuses not only on academic support but also on each student's mental, emotional, and social development.

Students living in the residence learn important life skills such as independence, responsibility, and decision-making. A disciplined daily routine helps them develop time management and a strong work ethic. The close bond between students and teachers, along with a sense of brotherhood among students, creates a supportive community that contributes to both personal and academic growth. The diverse residential environment also encourages cultural exchange, allowing students from different parts of the country to learn from one another.

The residential facilities include spacious and well-designed dormitories with essential amenities. Students are under the care of dedicated hostel wardens and caretakers and are provided with balanced, nutritious meals. Regular activities such as games, sports, swimming, and hiking keep students actively engaged. Study hours and additional academic support are also part of the residential routine, along with access to school computer and internet facilities.

To ensure discipline and a smooth residential life, the residence follows structured guidelines. Parents are required to submit written leave requests in advance for any social events or home visits. Students are encouraged to avoid unnecessary social functions, especially during examination periods. Upon return from long illness, a fitness certificate from a doctor is required. Students must return to residence on time after vacations or home visits.

Communication with students is allowed during designated hours and only through approved channels. Parents are requested to limit calls to essential matters, and the use of digital messaging platforms is not encouraged for regular communication. In case of emergency, contact should be made through the school office.

Parents may visit students on Saturdays between 1 PM and 5 PM in the reception area with prior information to the residence in charge, except during examination days. Visitors must carry valid identification, and unauthorized entry is not permitted.

Students are responsible for the safety of their personal belongings. Any damage to school property or maintenance issues must be reported promptly. Maintaining cleanliness and respect for shared spaces is expected at all times.

Parents are advised not to send cash, expensive gifts, or outside food items to students. Night-outs are not permitted unless parents themselves are present and the student stays with them. Any items for students must be delivered directly to the residence or authorized person only.

The residential program follows a structured schedule in which students stay at the residence during the week and return home periodically, helping to maintain a balance between school life and family connections. New residential students undergo an orientation to become familiar with school rules, facilities, and daily routines before beginning their stay.

With its combination of academics, residential life, and a supportive environment, Godawari Residential School aims to provide students with a well-rounded educational experience that prepares them for higher studies and future responsibilities.

Vision

Godawari Residential School aims to be a premier residential institution that imparts world-class education capable of meeting the challenges posed by the increased pace of scientific, economic, and social advancement in the 21st century. The school celebrates a culture of excellence and values.

Message from the Principal

Kuldip Neupane

Welcome to GRS!

GRS is committed to “Raise the Next Generation” who could think high to collect global ideas for the nation. We concluded that if a child is inculcated with three universal qualities: hard work, time management and self-discipline, they are ready for any future. We work for it. GRS observes the children through Multiple Intelligence (MI). Every child is born with at least a specific quality. Through MI we tend to discover the children’s specific ability to make their future. We apply specific technique of Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) to motivate each child to pursue their capability. All the teachers at GRS are trained for Neuro Linguistic Programming. Every lesson here is prepared keeping Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) at the center. The teachers are well trained for Student Centered Approach to teach through newly emerging methods: ‘Inquiry Based Learning’, ‘Phenomenon Based Learning’, ‘Problem Based Learning’ and ‘Project Based Learning’ in addition to the traditional lecture method. These activate the children to play with their mental ability.
