Ghataraj Memorial School was established in 2062 B.S. in memory of the late Ghataraj Bhattarai, a respected figure in Nepali literature. Known for his powerful writing, Ghataraj Bhattarai dedicated his life to highlighting the struggles, hopes, and stories of the Nepali people. His work, including Pratibhaipratibha ra Nepali Sahitya, remains important in understanding the history of Nepali literature.
Born in Okhaldhunga in 1999 B.S., he moved to Kathmandu at the age of 17, facing many challenges. Despite financial hardship, he worked various jobs to support his education and later completed his Master’s degree in Nepali from Tribhuvan University. Along with his literary achievements, he also inspired many students as a teacher.
To honor his life and contributions, his son Dr. Rajesh Raj Bhattarai founded Ghataraj Memorial School. Today, the school continues his legacy by providing quality education and supporting the all-round development of students. Guided by the values of learning, discipline, and creativity, the school is helping to shape a brighter future for the next generation.
