Bhutandevi Secondary School Hetauda

Established in 2016 B.S., Bhutandevi Secondary School is one of the oldest and most respected community schools in Makwanpur district. Located in the heart of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City Ward No. 4, the school has grown from a traditional language school to a leading institution in both general and technical education.

With over 2,400 students currently enrolled, Bhutandevi offers academic programs from Early Childhood Education to Grade 12 in both English and Nepali mediums. It provides Plus Two programs in Management, Education, and Civil Engineering, and proudly holds the distinction of being the first school in the district to offer a technical stream in Civil Engineering.

Since 2070 B.S., the school has been running Civil Engineering classes from Grades 9 to 12, and since 2076 B.S., it has been offering a 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering under CTEVT. It also conducts pre-diploma and skill-based training programs, including industrial trainee courses and a 24-month Early Childhood Development Facilitator training from 2081 B.S.

The school boasts excellent infrastructure with 9 buildings, 61 rooms (40 used for classrooms), a large playground, and 73 rental shutters that serve as a sustainable source of income. Its facilities include science and computer labs, a well-stocked library, and free Wi-Fi. The faculty comprises 73 trained and experienced teachers and staff who regularly participate in curriculum development, assessment, and ICT training workshops.

Bhutandevi Secondary School has consistently demonstrated academic excellence. In the 2080 SEE exams, it achieved a 74.54% pass rate, securing the top position in the district. Similarly, in recent municipal-level Grade 8 exams, several students scored a perfect GPA of 4.0, reaffirming its reputation as the best-performing community school in the municipality.

In addition to academics, the school emphasizes co-curricular activities, technical skill development, and behavior-focused education, preparing students to be capable professionals and responsible citizens. With alumni working in government services, private consultancies, and as sub-engineers across local and provincial bodies, the school continues to contribute significantly to Nepal's technical workforce.

The school is also leading an initiative to merge with a neighboring community school to form a "mega school," further expanding its capacity and impact.
