Founded in 2017, the School of Coffee Beans has been providing barista skills and entrepreneurial courses, equipping students with the expertise needed to initiate their own ventures from its various locations scattered across Kathmandu, like Dillibazar, New Baneshwor (Thapagau), Bouddha, and Maharajgunj.
The School of Coffee Beans offers comprehensive knowledge to individuals aspiring to launch their careers in the coffee industry. Its comprehensive Basic Barista Course offers an immersive 15-day learning experience. Students benefit from personalized, one-on-one training with an instructor. The curriculum begins with an introduction to specialty coffee and the standards of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). Participants will gain an understanding of various types of espresso machines before moving into practical training on crafting a range of espresso-based beverages. The course emphasizes hands-on practice in essential barista skills, including coffee brewing techniques, milk frothing, and basic latte art. Furthermore, students will receive practical training on preparing international standard beverages, learn the crucial skill of espresso calibration, and explore non-blended beverage options. The course also covers the vital aspect of customer service within a coffee shop environment.
