Jana Jiwan Secondary School

Established in 1960 by the local community, Jana Jiwan Secondary School is a vital educational institution in Chainpur Village, located in Khairahani Municipality, Chitwan District. The school offers classes from ECD to Grade 10, following the National Curriculum of Nepal, and serves over 1100 students from diverse ethnic and community backgrounds, including Janajati, Dalits, Tharus, Brahmins, and Kshetriyas.

The school occupies about 2 hectares of land and serves a population of around 30,000 people. It plays a significant role in the region, where agriculture is the primary source of livelihood. Despite its rural setting, Jana Jiwan Secondary School strives to provide quality education to its students, though it faces challenges due to its modest infrastructure. Many of the school's buildings are simple zinc-thatched sheds, which can make learning difficult, especially during the hot summer months typical of Chitwan.
