Kanchan Vidhya Mandir Secondary School and Kanchan Vidya Mandir Samudayik College, located in Kanchanpur, were founded through the collective efforts of intellectuals, social workers, local people, and government bodies. The school was established in 2036 B.S., and the community college was launched in 2066 B.S. with just 28 students in the BBS program. Since then, the number of students has grown steadily, now exceeding 800 in the BBS stream alone. These institutions are not owned by any individual or the government but are community-based, service-oriented organizations operating under the Guthi Act and Tribhuvan University regulations.
The school offers education from LKG to Grade 12, with Plus Two programs in Science, Management, and Humanities under NEB. The college runs Bachelor's and Master's level programs in Business Studies (BBS and MBS), fulfilling the educational needs of students from rural, economically challenged backgrounds—especially in a region where there are no MBS programs affiliated with TU, FU, or other universities.
With strong physical infrastructure, including classrooms, a library, computer lab, and playground, the institutions have created a learning-friendly environment. They also run special programs like reader groups and leadership groups to promote reading habits and personal development. KVM provides full and partial scholarships to marginalized students and offers a 20% scholarship on tuition fees to girl students at the higher secondary level.
The vision of Kanchan Vidya Mandir is to become a leading institution of excellence in education and Fine Arts in Nepal. It seeks to promote equality, access, and cultural enrichment through transformative learning, while helping students imagine and build a better future for themselves and their communities.
The mission of the school and college is to deliver inclusive, quality education that empowers students from all backgrounds—particularly the disadvantaged, disabled, and marginalized. It aims to foster critical thinking, leadership, and creativity while preserving and projecting Nepal’s rich cultural heritage through specialized academic programs.
The primary goal of Kanchan Vidya Mandir is to rejuvenate Nepal’s cultural legacy and establish the country as a regional hub for Art, Culture, and Education. KVM also strives to enable community development by producing responsible, skilled, and culturally rooted individuals
