Jyotidaya Co-Operative Secondary School

Jyotidaya Sahakari Secondary School is a unique community cooperative school located in Chapagaun-1, Godawari, Lalitpur, Nepal. Established in 1996 AD (2054 BS) by a group of committed local youths, it stands out as Nepal’s only non-profit community cooperative school, dedicated to providing quality education at an affordable cost to students who might otherwise lack access to good schooling.

The school offers education from Early Childhood Development (ECD) to Grade 10, serving a diverse student community with around 500 learners enrolled according to the latest IEMIS data. Its mission is to bridge the gap between expensive private schools and under-resourced public schools by offering an inclusive learning environment that emphasizes both academic success and community development.

Jyotidaya Cooperative Secondary School operates with lower tuition than typical private schools and has achieved remarkable academic outcomes, including a 100 % pass rate in national examinations in recent years. The school is supported by dedicated teachers, community members, and voluntary initiatives, making it a model of community-driven quality education in the region.
