The Bachelor of Science (BSc) Entrance Examination is conducted annually by Tribhuvan University, Institute of Science and Technology to study various programs under the Bachelor of Science (General). 

The various majors under B.Sc General are B.Sc in Microbiology, B.Sc in Environmental Science, B.Sc in Botany, B.Sc in Zoology, B.Sc in Meteorology, B.Sc in Physics, B.Sc in Geology, B.Sc in Chemistry, B.Sc in Statistics, and so on.

Eligibility

  • Students are required to have successfully completed the I.Sc., +2 Science, A level, or an equivalent examination with a minimum of 100 marks in the English subject.
  • To enroll in the Biology group, students must have studied Chemistry and Biology, each with a 200-mark weightage, and obtained a passing grade in the second division or at least a final grade C in each subject. Additionally, they should have passed other subjects and attained a minimum GPA of 1.6.
  • For enrollment in the Physical Group, students must have studied Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, and English, each with a 200-mark weightage, and obtained a final grade C (GPA 2) in each subject.
  • Students intending to enroll in either group must have studied Physics and Mathematics, each with a 200-mark weightage, and obtained a passing grade in the second division or at least a final grade C in each subject. Additionally, they should have passed other subjects and attained a minimum GPA of 1.6.
  • For A-level qualifications, a minimum grade of E is required.
  • For students graduating from international academic institutions, an equivalence certificate from the Curriculum Development Center, Sanothimi, is mandatory.

Syllabus

Common questions will be asked for Physical and Biological groups. The total score for the entrance examination will be out of 100. This includes Objective/Multiple Choice questions based on the curriculum of classes 11 and 12 for Chemistry or Physics in Group A, Biology or Mathematics in Group B, and English Aptitude Test in Group D.

If students achieve equal marks in the entrance examination results, the merit list will be compiled based on the marks obtained in the Chemistry/Physics subject. In the event of a tie in this aspect, the marks obtained in Mathematics/Biology and English subjects will be considered. If equality persists among all these criteria, precedence will be given to the lower educational level. However, scores derived from these criteria will not be publicly disclosed.

  • The duration of the entrance examination will be 2 hours.
  • To pass the entrance examination, candidates must obtain at least 30% of the total marks.

Furthermore, students who have failed in more than two subjects in the class 12 or equivalent examination, and have taken the examination for grade improvement, can also apply along with the remaining candidates.
