The British College (TBC) Participation

1. Two students from The MSc IT programme, Siya Shrestha and Priyanka Neupane participated in The 2020 International Conference on Future Generation Computing & Technology Innovations – Liverpool, UK, 1st-3rd July 2020 (FGCom'2020) and presented two research papers.
2. ACCA Students Rukminee Ghimire and Liza KC successfully passed Remotely Proctored ACCA Examination Held in July 2020. Remotely Proctored Examination for ACCA is one of its kind in Nepal and the World.

Applying to The British College 

The college keeps its application procedure simple and straightforward. It attracts numerous students from all over the world and it is extremely important to the college that each student receives proper assistance in the application process. 

Entry Procedure 

• Students wishing to apply to TBC go through five stages of Admission.
• An informal meeting with our admissions department and officers to discuss any queries you may have and to assist you with your application, including what documents you need. If you need help certifying your documents, the college can assist you with this.
• First you must complete an application form. Once you have decided on the course that you wish to study, you simply complete the application form online or fill it out manually by obtaining an application form from the College, for evaluation by Admissions Team of the college. You also need to submit CERTIFIED copies of the documents required.
• Once you have submitted your application form and all of your required documents, the admission department of the college will then assess your application. If the college requires any further information, it will contact you immediately.
• You will then receive a conditional offer and after this you must make a deposit payment to secure your place in the process.
• You then need to provide the evidence required in your conditional offer letter (i.e. original certificates).
• If necessary, you will then be asked to sit an English test with the college.
• Once the above is completed and approved, you will receive an unconditional offer and must make your final payment and secure your place in the process.

Required Documents

• Academic certificates and transcripts.
• Certified evidence of English level (i.e., IELTS, TOEFL, etc.)
• Any support letters you may have.
• If studying the Weekend MBA (Executive) you will also be asked to provide a CV showing managerial experience.

Postgraduate Programmes

1. MSc. IT

Entry Requirements:

Pre-Masters: A Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.

Duration : Pre-Masters + 3 Semesters

Direct Entry: A pass in TBC’s Pre-Masters degree and IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5 (Students meeting university entry criteria can join directly to the University program)

Work experience: At least 2 years of managerial work experience following completion of a Bachelor's.
(Note: individual university partners may have variations on the type and amount of work experience, and whether it is required. Please refer to the Program Leader for further specific course information.

2. MBA (Graduate)

Entry Requirements

Pre-Masters Programme: Bachelors Honours Degree: 2:2 or above (55% or above)

Duration: Pre-Masters + 3 Trimester

Direct Entry:

•  A pass in TBC's Pre-Masters degree; OR
• A degree greater than or equal to 2.1 (Students fully meeting LBU entry criteria can join directly to the university programme) and;
• A minimum of 6.5 IELTS or equivalent (with no skill below 6)  
• A student may be allowed admission with relevant managerial (evidenced) work experience (no less than 2-3 years). 
  (Note: individual university partners may have variations on the type and amount of work experience, and whether it is required. Please refer to the Program Leader for further specific course information.  

3. MBA (Executive)

Entry Requirements

Pre-Masters: Bachelor's Honors Degree: 2:2 or above (55% or above)

Duration: Pre-Masters + 3 Trimesters

Direct Entry: 

• A degree greater than or equal to 2.1 (Students fully meeting partner university entry criteria can join directly to the university program) and;
• A minimum of 6.5 IELTS or equivalent (with no skill below 6) and;
• 4-5 years of relevant work experience in a managerial position.

Undergraduate Programs:

1. BBA (Hons) Business and Management

Successful completion of a Level 4 Diploma from a recognized awarding body or institution.All admissions into Level 5 and 6 are subject to approval by the University, as the final decision rests with the awarding institution.

2. BSc (Hons) Computing

• For Foundation: 10+2 with 60% (GPA 2.4) or A Level with 3.5 credits.
• For Direct Entry: 75% with 70% in English and IELTS 6.0 (no skill below 5.5).

3. BSc (Hons) Cyber Security and Digital Forensics

Foundation Programme

To qualify for the foundation program, you must have one of the following:

• 10+2/CBSE or equivalent
• 60% (GPA 2.4) or above aggregate score
• A Level (minimum 3.5 credits with 3 full credits)*

*Any other qualification must be approved by the Program Leader before being accepted 

Direct Entry:

• Pass TBC Foundation Program OR
• Overall 75% & above with a minimum of 70% in English or
• 120 UCAS points with a Minimum of 96 points from 3 A Level subjects (Excluding General Studies), AND
• 6.0 IELTS or equivalent (with no skill below 5.5)

4. BSc (Hons) Computer Science - Artificial Intelligence

Foundation Programme

To qualify for the foundation program, you must have one of the following:

• 10+2/CBSE or equivalent
• 60% (GPA 2.4) or above aggregate score
• A Level (minimum 3.5 credits with 3 full credits)* 

*Any other qualification must be approved by the Program Leader before being accepted  

Direct Entry: 

• Pass the TBC Foundation Program OR
• Overall 75% & above with a minimum of 70% in English or;
• 120 UCAS points with a Minimum of 96 points from 3 A Level subjects (Excluding General Studies), AND
• 6.0 IELTS or equivalent (with no skill below 5.5)

Cambridge GCE A Level

Entry Requirements

Students who have taken the SEE/GCSE/CBSE or equivalent exams at the time of admission can apply. The main requirement is a sound academic ability to fulfill the rigors of this challenging program. British Model College Kathmandu uses a comprehensive evaluation system to select a highly motivated group of students to join the A-level programme.

1. Non-science

SEE Board Nepal with a MINIMUM overall of 2.4 GPA

2. Science

SEE Board Nepal with a MINIMUM overall of 2.8 GPA

In addition, all students must pass The British College A Level Entrance Exam, held in the college building Thapathali, Kathmandu.

ACCA

Entry Requirements

Applied Knowledge Level /FIA :

10+2/SEE (A-C) (in five separate subjects including Mathematics & English)

+ 2 passes at GCE / VCE A-Level (grades A-E)

 Applied Skills Level :

FIA/ACCA Applied Knowledge level papers passed or exempted

Strategic Professional Level :

ACCA Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills level papers passed or exempted.
