The British College (TBC) Participation

i) Two students from The MSc IT programme, Siya Shrestha and Priyanka Neupane participated in The 2020 International Conference on Future Generation Computing & Technology Innovations – Liverpool, UK, 1st-3rd July 2020 (FGCom'2020) and presented two research papers.

ii) ACCA Students Rukminee Ghimire and Liza KC successfully passed Remotely Proctored ACCA Examination Held in July 2020. Remotely Proctored Examination for ACCA is one of its kind in Nepal and the World.

 
 

 

 

Admission Guidelines

APPLYING TO The British College (TBC) 

The college keeps its application procedure simple and straightforward. It attracts numerous students from all over the world and it is extremely important to the college that each student receives proper assistance in the application process. 

Entry Procedure 

Students wishing to apply to TBC go through five stages of Admission. 

1. An informal meeting with our admissions department and officers to discuss any queries you may have and to assist you with your application, including what documents you need. If you need help certifying your documents, the college can assist you with this. 

2. First you must complete an application form. Once you have decided on the course that you wish to study, you simply complete the application form online or fill it out manually by obtaining an application form from the College, for evaluation by Admissions Team of the college. You also need to submit CERTIFIED copies of the documents required. 

3. Once you have submitted your application form and all of your required documents, the admission department of the college will then assess your application. If the college requires any further information, it will contact you immediately. 

4. You will be invited to take a TBC placement test which will help the college to decide the entry point on your desired course.  

5. On acceptance of your application, you will be invited to return to the college within 48 hours for the enrollment process.

Postgraduate Programmes

1. MIBM Programme

Entry Requirements

Pre-Masters : A Bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised university

Duration : Pre-Masters + 3 Semesters

Direct Entry : A pass in TBC’s Pre-Masters degree and IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5

(Students meeting university entry criteria can join directly to the University programme)

Work Experience : At least 2 years managerial work experience following completion of Bachelors

2. MSc IT

Entry Requirements

Pre-Masters : A Bachelor degree from a recognised university.

Duration : Pre-Masters + 3 Semesters

Direct Entry : A pass in TBC’s Pre-Masters degree and IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5 (Students meeting university entry criteria can join directly to the University programme)

Work Experience : Students who do not have an IT background require 2 years of work experience. However, if students have an Undergraduate IT degree (e.g. BSc Computing, BIT, or a BE in Computers) than no work experience is required.

3. MBA (Graduate)

Entry Requirements

Pre-Masters : A Bachelor degree or equivalent in any academic discipline from a recognised institution with an aggregate score of at least 50% or equivalent.

Duration : Pre-Masters + 4 Semesters

Direct Entry : A pass in TBC’s Pre-Masters degree. If English is not the first language, applicants will need to fulfill the English language requirements of IELTS minimum level 6.0 (with no skills below 5.5) or equivalent. (Students meeting university entry criteria can join directly to the University programme)

4. MBA (Executive)

Entry Requirements

Pre-Masters : A Bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised university

Duration : Pre-Masters + 4 Semesters

Direct Entry : A pass in TBC’s Pre-Masters degree and IELTS 6.0 with no skills below 5.5

(Students meeting university entry criteria can join directly to the University programme)

Work Experience : At least 2 years managerial work experience following completion of Bachelors

Undergraduate Programmes:

1.BBA (Hons)

Entry Requirements

Academic : 10+2/A Level/CBSE or equivalent 55% and above aggregate score

University Entry : 70% and above with a minimum of 65% in each subject for Direct Entry to Level 4

Language : Minimum 70% in English and an IELTS Score of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band.

2. BSc (Hons) Computing

Entry Requirements

Academic : 10+2/A Level/CBSE or equivalent 55% and above aggregate score

University Entry : 70% and above with a minimum of 65% in each subject for Direct Entry to Level 4

Language : Minimum 70% in English and an IELTS Score of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band.

3. BSc (Hons) Hospitality Business Management

Entry Requirements Foundation Entry

10+2/CBSE or equivalent 55% and above aggregate score

A Level - Minimum 3.5 credits with 3 full credits

University Entry

Overall 75% & above with a minimum of 70% in each subject for direct entry to Level 4

Cambridge GCE A Level

Entry Requirements

Students who have taken the SEE/GCSE/CBSE or equivalent exams at the time of admission can apply. The main requirement is a sound academic ability to fulfill the rigours of this challenging programme. British Model College Kathmandu uses a comprehensive evaluation system to select a highly motivated group of students to join the A-level programme.

1. Non-science

SEE Board Nepal with a MINIMUM overall of 2.4 GPA

2. Science

SEE Board Nepal with a MINIMUM overall of 2.8 GPA

In addition, all students must pass The British College A Level Entrance Exam, held in the college building Thapathali, Kathmandu.

ACCA

Entry Requirements

Applied Knowledge Level /FIA :

10+2/SEE (A-C) (in five separate subjects including Mathematics & English)

+ 2 passes at GCE / VCE A-Level (grades A-E)

 Applied Skills Level :

FIA/ACCA Applied Knowledge level papers passed or exempted

Strategic Professional Level :

ACCA Applied Knowledge and Applied Skills level papers passed or exempted.
