Bachelor in Mathematical Sciences (Actuarial Science), affiliated to Tribhuvan University, encompasses essential foundational courses along with a selection of elective courses. In today's world, computational simulations are ubiquitous, and the volume of available data for businesses is growing exponentially, thanks to the Internet. Consequently, various fields in science, engineering, and industry now revolve around constructing and assessing mathematical models, conducting computational explorations, and analyzing extensive sets of observed and computed data, all intrinsically rooted in mathematics. In this course video, Keshab Raj Phulara, Program Coordinator of TU IoST provides insights into the field of Actuarial Science and its practical applications. He highlights the challenges stemming from a shortage of individuals pursuing this course and elucidates how TU has introduced this program to address this issue. The video also features a brief contribution from Professor Binil Aryal (PhD), the Dean of TU IoST, who provides additional information about the course.
