28th Convocation (Second Phase) Ceremony Held - Kathmandu University

28th Convocation Ceremony (Second Phase) of Kathmandu University was held on University's premises on Jestha 28, 2080.

A total of 1,240 graduates from the University’s seven schools (Arts, Education, Engineering, Law, Management, Medical Sciences, and Science) were awarded degrees of different levels. 9 PhD students, 41 MPhil students, 98 postgraduate students, and 1,092 undergraduate students were initiated in the ceremony.

Of the total graduates, the percentage of men is 49.35% (612 students), the percentage of women is 50.65% (628 students) and the percentage of foreign students representing 4 countries (India, US, Benin, and Sri-lanka) is 5.89% (73 students).

29 students in the School of Engineering will get a Bachelor of Architecture degree for the first time.

Prof. Dr. Rajan Velukar, who is currently the Vice-Chancellor of ATLAS SkillTech University in Mumbai and was formerly the Vice-Chancellor of a number of universities, including Mumbai University, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. 

Honorable Prime Minister and Chancellor of the University Puspa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), Honorable Ministry of Education, Science and Technology Minister and Pro-chancellor Ashok Kumar Rai along with Minister of State for Education, Science, and Technology Mrs. Pramila Kumari also attended the Ceremony.

Kathmandu University Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bhola Thapa gave a welcome speech.
