Kathmandu University Undergraduate Management Admission Test (KUUMAT)

The admission to BBA, BBIS, BBA (Hons)/BBA (Emphasis) programs of Kathmandu University (KU) is strictly merit-based and will be determined by the scores in Kathmandu University Undergraduate Management Admission Test (KUUMAT).

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Business Information System (BBIS), BBA (Hons)/BBA (Emphasis) and Bachelor in Hospitality and Tourism Management (BHTM) programs are the highly regarded programs of Kathmandu University. 

This test is taken by Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) with an aim to recruit quality students to its affiliated colleges and is a compulsory requirement for applying to get admission. The KUUMAT entrance applications is generally announced on the month of June and the exam is generally held in the month of July. 

Eligibility

Candidates (both Nepali and Non-Nepali) with a minimum of 50 percent in aggregate or CGPA of 2.0 on the scale of 4.0 in 10+2 or intermediate or equivalent level study program form universities/boards recognized by Kathmandu University are eligible.

Note: Applicants who have completed the qualifying educational level but are waiting for the final results may apply on a provisional basis, provided they have already taken the final annual examinations of the program and passed all previous year papers. 

Admission Criteria

KUUMAT Exam Pattern 

KUUMAT test consists of multiple choice questions. There is negative scoring. For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. That mean 4 (four) wrong answers neutralize 1 (one) correct answer.

Cutoff Score

The cutoff scores for KUUMAT entrance test are:

  • A score of 50 percentile or above in Kathmandu University Undergraduate Management Admission Test (KUUMAT).
  • A score of 50 percentile or above in analytical writing and personal interview after passing KUUMAT with the required score. 

Curricular Structure

KUUMAT will be based on the following assessment domains:

  • General SAT
  • SAT Mathematics Test

The KUUMAT shall comprise of a single test, comprising of both the assessment domains.
