ABOUT
Established in 2009 B.S., Thakur Ram Multiple Campus is a constituent campus affiliated with Tribhuvan University. Its distinguished history predates the establishment of Tribhuvan University itself, commencing operations in the aftermath of the introduction of democracy in 1951 B.S. The primary mission was to provide advanced education to the local community, making it the first campus outside the Kathmandu Valley and the third in the nation.
Initially affiliated with Patna University in India, the campus took pride in its early contributions to shaping statesmen, literary figures, scholars, artists, social workers, industrialists, doctors, and technical professionals. Over the years, it has made significant strides in both quantity and quality, emerging as a symbol of educational and developmental progress.
Since 2000 B.S., the campus has functioned as a decentralized unit, overseen by a Campus Management Committee (CMC) led by the Campus Chief. This committee includes representatives from various sectors, underscoring a commitment to inclusive governance and education.
The campus offers a diverse range of academic programs at both the Bachelor's and Master's levels, spanning four key streams: Education, Management, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Science & Technology, to meet the educational demands of the region. In the previous academic year, the campus introduced two new Master's level subjects: M.Ed. in Nepali and Population Education. Additionally, the Bachelor program now includes the subject of Meteorology.
The campus has effectively administered Master's level programs and four-year academic programs, including Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor in Information Technology (BIT), utilizing its internal resources. Currently, efforts are underway to initiate programs such as BIM (Bachelor in Information Management), B.Sc.IT (Bachelor of Science in Information Technology), and LLB (Bachelor of Laws) in the upcoming academic year.
