Hope International college is registered with the Company Registrar’s Office in Kathmandu, in accordance with Nepal’s Company Act 2063 B.S. Hope International College aims to develop modern, resourceful, and relevant education in the health sciences field, by providing a favorable environment in order to optimize the learning potential of all students.

College counselling program:
The college counseling program through collaboration with faculty members, parents and students helps students become effective learners, achieve success in college and develop into contributing members of society. For uninterrupted functioning, all class room computers are covered with power backup system thus ensuring the safety of the student’s regular classes. We have installed the latest and powerful generator system and solar system, ensuring adequate power supply all the time.

HIC has a big playground for sports activities- basketball (Standard Full Court), badminton, table tennis etc. Sports are as much part of HIC as the routine academic exercises. The college organizes the prestigious “HIC Sports Week” each year.
Standard class rooms:
Cozy classrooms are furnished with white boards, comfortable seating arrangements and audio-visual teaching and presentation aids like: multi-media projectors, OHPs, TV and VCRs.
HOPE International College has fleet of buses and other vehicles and an appropriate arrangement for students travel to field duties and other recreational activities organized by college itself.
Hospitals and health facilities:
HIC has been planning to construct its own 100- bed teaching Hospital within the Kathmandu Valley. The HIC has to provide the first aid service and to overcome the minor health problems. In case of emergencies, nearby facilities shall be utilized. Now, our Nursing students have been engaged as a clinical exposures with Nepal Police Hospital, Thapathali maternity hospital, Patan Hospital and other provate hospital, Annapurna Neuro hospital and other private hospitals in Kathmandu. Most of Pharmacy students are engaged in hospital pharmacy and pharmaceutical industry.
Research and development:
HIC has its own Research and Development Unit (RDU) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) with necessary infrastructure and facilities to strength the program effectively. The Research Unit shall promote, enhance and facilitate public health, nursing biomedical and pharmaceutical research. The centre provides high quality research services to the members of the college. It aims to contribute the under graduate and the the education by integrating course with research work.
The HIC is epuipped with adequate number of basic and reference book with health related magazines, national and international journals and periodical and daily weekly newspaper. Our library equipped with technical personnel and the commonly practiced cataloguing system to enable easy and proper access and circulation. We believe “books are students best friends” hence and elaborate collection of books is available for student including Journals and research works apart from course material reference material.
Teaching and learning strategies:
HIC focuses on advanced teaching and learning methodology like problem based learning, group discussion, case studies, project work and presentation. All courses are persented using the “blended learning” approach the will utilize on-line and face to face techniques. Each students is assigned a tutor/mentor who provides academic supervision and advising throughout the program.
HIC has sophisticated computer labs with wireless network environment in the college. The labs are well equipped with latest computers on a LAN running with a dedicated file server. In tune with ever-changing technology, the college upgrades the system with advanced software and hardware. The student computer ratio is 1:1. Our computer labs are equipped with Gigabit Ethernet (1000 Mbps) for high speed multimedia and video network.
To fulfill the entry-level requirement for admission to this course, the candidates should have proficiency certificate in general medicine, any other recognized certificate level course in health sciences, or intermediate science certificate or ten plus two with biology with second division in aggregate in certificate final examination and a pass in the entrance examination conducted by Purbanchal University.
An entrance examination is conducted each year during the month of October. There is one paper carrying one hundred and fifty marks consisting of general sciences, health sciences and English (50 marks in each). All questions are multiple choices. The duration of examination is three hours. The candidates must secure at least 50 % mark to pass the entrance examination. The candidates are selected from the merit list in descending order.
To fulfill the entry level requirement for admission, candidates must have passed the school leaving certificate (SLC) with second division in aggregate, and a pass in the entrance examination conducted by CTEVT.
A three hours entrance examination will be held for one comprehensive paper (50 marks each for English, Math and Science). The questions will be of multiple choices. Candidates must pass the entrance examination and the selection will be based on the merit list in the descending order.
