Admission Guidelines

For MBS program

Students applying for the MBS program must fill in the application blank with all details of their personal information and past academic records.

The selection of students shall be based on CMAT. FOM shall conduct a Central Management Admission Test (CMAT) that will test the basic ability of the students in verbal ability and quantitative ability. The test shall be based on the GMAT and GRE format. The admission test shall be concentrated on testing verbal and quantitative ability, business and economics, logical reasoning and general awareness.

There should be altogether hundred (100) questions in the CMAT containing 20 questions in each section. Students must secure a minimum 40% in the CMAT in order to qualify for the admission.

For MBM and MBA programs

Faculty of Management shall conduct a four staged admission tests to appropriately screen the applicants. The applicants shall be screened in each of the following stages.

Written Test: This test shall be based on the GMAT and GRE format. The duration of the test will be 3 hours and 30 minutes.

Group Discussion: Groups discuss on a given topic. Performance of applicants is recorded by a panel of judges based on leadership, logic, and other traits.

Individual Presentation: Applicants are required to present their views and opinions on a given topic before panel of judges.

Personal Interview: Personal interview is taken to measure the applicant's motivation level, attitude, aptitude, and capability to handle the pressure and rigors of the program.

FOM reserves the final authority in the selection of the candidates for the program.

Out of 44 seats in MBM program, 4 seats are full scholarship seats.

100 percent tuition fee waiver to the semester topper.

Tribhuvan University Central Department of Management is devoted for the development of Management Education in Nepal. Central Department of Management (CDM) is a pioneer institution providing management education in Tribhuvan University through offering Master, M.Phil and PhD program in Management. CDM was established in 1959 with the aim of providing quality education to meet the challenges and to grasp the opportunities of the business world. It has a long history of successfully equipping its students with critical management skills for professional pursuits in business, industry and government. Moreover, it also emphasizes on preparing students for research, consulting and teaching in the fields of business and management.

Currently, CDM offers six programs in post graduate level in management area, namely M Phil in ManagementMBA in Corporate Leadership (MBA-CL), MBA in Marketing (MBA-M)Master of Business Administration in Finance (MBA-F)Master of Business Management (MBM), and Master of Business Studies (MBS). The purpose of the post-graduate programs is to provide an opportunity for students to develop their knowledge, ability, attitude and understanding which develop a foundation for their growth into competent and responsible business managers. All of these programs are operated in semester system.
