Established in 2008 B.S. as a primary school, Janata Model Technical Secondary School is in Tinkoriya, Giddha Belapatti ward No. 6, Bideha Municipality, Dhanusha. It has evolved into one of the most exemplary and largest community schools in Madhesh Province.
The school now offers education from Grade 1 to Grade 12, including technical education in Animal Science initiated in 2070 B.S., and Plus Two programs since 2068 B.S. It was officially recognized as a Model School in 2074 B.S., a testament to its commitment to quality education, discipline, and holistic development.
With an enrollment of over 6,175 students from Dhanusha and neighboring districts such as Siraha and Mahottari as of 2081 B.S., the school’s popularity continues to rise due to its strong academic foundation, strict discipline, and structured learning environment. Every year, more than a thousand new students compete for limited seats, prompting the school to implement admission quotas and entrance exams.
The school’s remarkable success is credited to its dynamic leadership under Principal Mr. Mandal, who has implemented a system of 40 active subcommittees, including internal monitoring, counseling, discipline, and prayer committees. Regular meetings, inspections, and evaluations ensure ongoing improvement in teaching and administration. Additionally, the school uses CCTV surveillance and a control room to monitor academic activities.
Teaching is entirely free from Grade 1 to 12, and there is a residential hostel for 150 students. Students up to Grade 5 benefit from the government’s midday meal program, while the school also operates a subsidized canteen. Daily prayer sessions foster discipline and moral values, incorporating the national anthem, spiritual chanting, and motivational speeches by teachers and students.
The school promotes teacher leadership by appointing rotating weekly in-charge positions, with rewards for the best performers. Every Friday is dedicated to extracurricular activities like music, dance, science, technology, sports, and art, ensuring all—around development. With a reputation built on discipline, moral education, academic excellence, and dedicated teachers, Janata Namuna Secondary School stands as a benchmark for community schools in Nepal.
