TU Vice-Chancellor Inspects Educational Conditions in Gandaki Province

Vice-Chancellor of Tribhuvan University, Prof. Dr. Keshar Jung Baral, undertook a comprehensive assessment of six campuses in Gandaki Province. His visit focused on evaluating the educational, physical, and administrative landscapes of these institutions.

During his inspection, Prof. Dr. Baral engaged with students, faculty, and staff to gauge various aspects, including the state of educational progress, operational efficiency of academic programs, faculty availability and challenges, laboratory conditions, and the overall learning experience of students.

These visits were made aiming to assess the development, research activities, faculty development, and student engagement of these colleges.

Prof. Dr. Baral expressed his commitment to transform these campuses into centers of educational excellence within Gandaki Province, where degrees and diplomas could be conferred in alignment with his vision. He emphasized the urgent need to upgrade laboratory facilities and urged campus administrators to prioritize student education.

Highlighting the importance of the Nursing Campus, Prof. Dr. Baral stressed the need for collaboration with supportive organizations to establish a 300-bed hospital.

He also addressed challenges such as vacancies in key positions within the Tribhuvan University Service Commission, credibility issues, and legal obstacles hindering the promotions and appointments of faculty and staff across campuses.

Prof. Dr. Baral emphasized his intention to implement initiatives outlined in his concept paper, focusing on qualifications and capabilities to foster overall higher education. He called for support from all stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, to promote a holistic approach to higher education.

Furthermore, he mentioned significant developments such as laying the foundation stone of the new Education Department building at Prithvi Narayan Campus and recognizing exemplary teachers and staff in a sports competition organized by the campus.
