Government Awards Top Schools and Colleges on National Education Day 2081

On the occasion of National Education Day 2081, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology recognized and awarded top-performing schools and colleges in Nepal for their contributions to the education sector. The awards were distributed to both public and private institutions, along with technical schools and social welfare organizations.

Top Colleges

In recognition of their outstanding academic performance, the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MoEST) will award a cash prize of Rs 250,000 to each of the three top-performing campuses. These colleges were rigorously evaluated by the University Grants Commission (UGC), highlighting their excellence in delivering quality higher education and contributing to the development of skilled professionals in Nepal.

School of Business, Pokhara, Kaski

Pokhara University 

Pokhara University School of Business, located in Lekhnath, Pokhara, is a QAA-accredited institution established in 1999. It aims to equip students with practical skills to meet the challenges of the global business environment.

Jana Bhawana Campus, Chapagaun, Lalitpur

Tribhuvan University

Located in Chapagaun, Lalitpur, Jana Bhawana Campus is a QAA-accredited community campus established in 1991. It aims to prepare globally competent individuals while fostering an inclusive and participatory environment.

Manmohan Memorial Institute of Health Sciences

Tribhuvan University

Manmohan Memorial Institute of Health Sciences (MMIHS) provides practical, high-quality health education and services, focusing on excellence in education, research, and healthcare for both Nepalese and international communities.

Top Public Schools

In the Public Schools category, honors were awarded to public schools nationwide for their outstanding performance in the Secondary Education Examinations (SEE) 2080. The recipients were:

Shree Secondary School Tulsipur Center, Dang

Shree Secondary School Tulsipur Center, Tulsipur, Dang, has been recognized with the National Education Award for Excellence in the public category. Based on its outstanding results in SEE, it was named the best public school in the country. The school will receive a cash prize of Rs 300,000.

Viswa Niketan Secondary School, Kathmandu

Vishwa Niketan Secondary School, Kathmandu, was recognized as the second-best public school based on SEE results and received an award of Rs 200,000.

Janakalyan Secondary School, Dang

Janakalyan Secondary School from Dang secured third place in the public school category, receiving an award of Rs 100,000.

Top Private Schools

In the Private Schools category, recognition was awarded to schools nationwide for their exceptional performance in the Secondary Education Examinations (SEE) 2080. The top-performing institutions were:

Fluorescent Secondary School, Tokha, Kathmandu

Fluorescent Secondary School has been honored with the National Education Award for excellence in the private category. Based on its exceptional results in the 2080 SEE, it was named the best private school in the country. The school will receive a cash prize of Rs. 300,000.

Bijeshwori Gyan Mandir Sainik Mahavidyalaya, Kathmandu

Bijeshwori Gyan Mandir Sainik Mahavidyalaya was honored as the second-best private school based on SEE results and awarded Rs 200,000.

Budhanilkantha School, Kathmandu

Budhanilkantha School from Kathmandu secured third place in the private school category, earning an award of Rs 100,000.

Top Technical Institutions

Four technical institutions were also recognized for their significant contributions to technical education. Each received a cash prize of Rs 100,000.

These awards were given based on evaluations and recommendations from the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT), which considered factors such as educational quality, institutional activities, and examination results from the Technical Education and Vocational Training Council.

  1. Nepal Banepa Polytechnic Institute, Banepa
  2. Tulsipur Polytechnic Institute, Tulsipur, Dang
  3. Janata Secondary School, Kapilvastu
  4. Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences, Sanobharyang, Kathmandu

Social Welfare Education Award

The Social Welfare Education Award recognized organizations that have made substantial contributions by providing education to underprivileged children, including street children, those with HIV/AIDS-infected parents, orphans, and children with disabilities. Each received a cash prize of Rs 200,000.

  1. Shree Yuva Kriyakalap Utthan Center, Kageshwari Manohara-06, Kathmandu: The institute received the award for its efforts in educating underprivileged children, including street children and orphans.
  2. Asha Foundation, Lalitpur: The institute received the award for its educational initiatives for children affected by HIV/AIDS and other disadvantaged groups.

Presented on National Education Day 2081, these awards emphasize the government's steadfast commitment to promoting educational excellence across multiple sectors, reinforcing its dedication to ensuring quality education for the country's future.
