Curricular Structure
MBBS Curriculum of BPKIHS
The MBBS Curriculum of BPKIHS integrates horizontal and vertically and takes a partially problem-based approach. It also emphasizes the community and preventive care from the beginning.
During the first two years of the course, emphasis has been placed on applied basic sciences, community medicine, and professional skills, with stress placed on multi-disciplinary and multi-professional education. Thus, the curricula incorporate early patient contact in the form of early clinical exposure and emphasize the importance of studying community medicine and behavioral sciences from the beginning.
Teaching through lectures has been restricted to a bare minimum, while problem-based learning (PBL) and other unconventional learning experiences (UNCLE) are encouraged. Attending at least 80% of the classes is essential for being eligible to appear in the Annual Examinations conducted during the course.
