The Siddhartha Gautam Buddha Campus, Rupandehi, is a community campus affiliated with Tribhuvan University. This higher education institution is QAA Accreditated by University Grant Commission (UGC) Nepal on 6 January 2019, and the accreditation will be valid until 5 January 2024


Siddhartha Gautam Buddha Campus is one of the promising community based campuses of the nation. Though established with the aim of providing quality education to the children of marginalized, disadvantaged and educationally under privileged class of the society, it has now started to cater the needs of the diverse classes of the society. Located at the heart of Butwal Sub Metropolitan City, it has been serving the needs of the students from Rupandehi and districts like Palpa, Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Kapilbastu, Nawalparasi, Dang, Rolpa, Pyuthan, Syangja, Baglung, Parbat etc. Started with 16 faculty members, 3 supportive staffs and 156 students, it has now 1553 students, 53 teaching staffs and 15 non-teaching staffs.   It has been running its classes of BBS, B Ed, MBS and M Ed in the buildings of its own located at Butwal Metropolitan City- 5, Rupandehi and is planning to run additional academic programs like BBM, BBA, BIM, B.Ed. (Mathematics and ICT), BA (BSW and Journalism) and M.Ed. (English, Nepali, Population and EPM).

Siddhartha Gautam Buddha Campus (SGBC) was established on 24th Ashwin 2048 on the principle of “cost recovery and quality education”. The campus was founded by permanent lecturers of Butwal Multiple Campus, educationists and noted social personalities of local community with the aim of providing quality education to the children of  marginalized, disadvantaged and educationally under privileged class  of the society. Initiated at the premises of Shree Kanti Boarding School with TU affiliated PCL (Humanities), there were 16 faculty members, 3 supportive staffs and 156 students at its establishment.  With the effort of Campus Management Committee, the ministry level cabinet decision granted permission to the campus to run its classes at its present location in   Butwal-5, Rupandehi. Then the campus started to construct its own building with the financial support of the Butwal Chamber of Commerce, Butwal Municipality, District Development Committee of Rupandehi and other social donors.

 With the overwhelming demand of  the society, SGBC  upgraded faculties up to Bachelor’s Degree (Education and Management) and Master Degree (Education and Management) in 2062 BS and 2067 BS respectively. The campus received letter of intent (LOI) to submit the self study report (SSR) on 11 Magh 2071 BS to get involved in Higher Education Reform Project (HERP) of UGC. SGBC signed MOU with UGC on 20th Magh 2072 BS. After the Letter of Intent (LOI) had been received, different committees were formed to prepare SSR report and the report was duly submitted QAA division of UGC on 21 Bhadra 2074 BS.   Then a pre- visit team led by Prof. Dr. Panna Thapa visited the campus on 21-23 Chaitra 2074 BS. The team pointed out shortcomings prevailing at the campus and recommended necessary actions to be taken to improve overall quality of the campus. Now the campus has rectified the shortcomings pointed out by the Pre visit team and is waiting for PRT.


Develop Campus as a leading academic institution ensuring tie quality education and research activities through competent and dedicated human resources at affordable cost to the marginalized and economically deprived students to improve their quality of life for serving local and national community. 


To be an excellent academic institution through the sustained efforts of lifelong learning, research development, critical thinking and inclusive education for meaningful contributions to the development of local and national community.


The college goals/priorities is not only pass the examination or build up a profession but to develop a tolerant, balanced, independent and right attitude of mind in the local and national community. So in this context, Campus has mainly four strategic goals/priorities to develop the campus as center of excellence in long run.

Admission Guidelines

For Ten Plus Two (Management, Humanities, Education) programs:

The students who have secured 1.6 GPA and above will be eligible for entrance exam in class 11 and all those who pass the entrance exam will be admitted. 

For BBS and B. Ed  programs:

Students who have completed 10+2 or equivalent examinations securing minimum 'D+' grade in all subjects of Grade 11 and 12 are eligible to enroll in B.Ed  and BBS programs of Tribhuvan University.

For M. Ed programs:

Student should have passed Bachelor’s Degree for the admission to the Masters Program. However, they need specific qualification for the admission in different subject. In semester system they have to pass entrance test for admission in different specialization subject.

For MBS program:

The student applying for admission to to MBS course must have successfully completed the BBS programs or a bachelor degree on any discipline from Tribhuvan University or from any other university recognized by Tribhuvan University.


  • The campus has provision of scholarship and freeship to increase and promote the enrollment of deserving and under privileged students in higher education as follows:
  • 100% scholarship  to deserving students (1'st topper in an annual examination) for each faculties and class/semester.
  • 50% scholarship  to deserving students (1'st topper in an internal examination) for each faculties and class/semester.
  • Provision of freeship to under privileged students as per scholarship and freeship guidelines (5% of total admitted students for each faculties and class/semesters).
  • To get the scholarship and freeship, students must apply the scholarship & freeship application form and attend the internal examination conducted by campus.
