Admission Guidelines

For School From Playgroup to Grade 9

Admission Requirement

  1. Minimum 3 years of age for the playgroup or nursery

  2. Transfer certificate for studying school at another school

  3. Birth certificate

  4. Equivalence certificate if the student is transferring from another board, such as any Indian Board

  5. Current photograph

  6. Entrance Test provided by the school

  7. Filled out the form provided by the school

Admission Process

Pre Primary

  • Submit the photocopy of BC (Birth Certificate) along with 2 recent passport sized photos of your child/children.

  • Fill up the registration form.

  • Ensure that the child’s age is at least 3 years old.

  • The child’s growth is supposed to be socially, physically and mentally healthy.

Basic Level (Grades 1 to 8)

  • Submit the certificate of BC (Birth Certificate), certificate of previous grade with minimum GPA 2, along with 2 passport sized photos.

  • Fill up the registration form.

  • Prepare for the Entrance Exam and interview.

  • The child’s record is supposed to be with good moral character and sound health.

  • Follow the terms and code of conducts of the school.

Secondary Level (Grades 9)

  • Submit the photocopy of BC (Birth Certificate), Certificate of BLE (Basic Level Exam) with minimum GPA 2, Certificate of Character and 2 recent passport sized photos.

  • Fill up the registration form.

  • Prepare for the Entrance Exam and interview.

  • The child’s record with good moral character and sound health.

  • Follow the terms and code of conduct.

For Plus Two Programs

Eligibility

For Science 

Students securing at least a 2.85 GPA in SEE or an equivalent recognized board, with a B+ grade in each of Science, Compulsory Mathematics, Optional Mathematics, and English, will be eligible for the science stream.

For Management

Students securing at least a 2.00 GPA in SEE or an equivalent recognized board, with a C+ grade in each of Compulsory Mathematics and English, will be eligible. Admission is based on the entrance exam and interview.

Other Scholarships 

  • Scholarship schemes for the underprivileged, Dalit, Adhibashi, Janjati, Madehsi, remote, and financially poor groups will be provided according to the Government provision by the concerned authorities.

  • A limited number of students will be provided this scholarship on a merit basis. In case of repetition of scholarship to a single candidate under different criteria, the single scholarship will be valid for the highest value.
  • School/College management reserves the right to fix the quota in the above scholarship criteria.

Target-Based Scholar

  • The First Position Holder in the Annual Exam at NJS in grade XI will be awarded 100% tuition fee waiver for one year in grade XII.
  • The Second Position Holder in the Annual Exam at NJS in grade XI will be awarded 75% off the Tuition fee for one year in grade XII.
  • The third-position holder in the Annual Exam at NJS in grade XI will be awarded 50% off the tuition fee for one year in grade XII.
  • Terms Exams (First and Second term). First Position Holder at NJS in grades XI & XII will be awarded a fee 50% off on the tuition fee for three months.
  • Terms Exams (First and second term) Second Position Holder at NJS in grade XI & XII will be awarded Tuition fee 30% off for three months.
  • Term Exams (First and second term): The Third Position Holder at NJS in grades XI & XII will be given a 15% tuition fee discount for three months.
  • UPS Excellence Award to the highest scorer in the average of Grade XI and XII in NEB exams will be awarded a trophy with a cash prize.
  • NJS Best Student of the batch will be awarded a trophy with a cash prize.
  • In case of repetition of GPA in the same position, the scholarship will be proportionately distributed among the recipient students.

About Us

Nava Jyoti Secondary School/College was established in 2038 B.S. (1981 A.D.) and is located at Basukimarg, Koteshwor-32, Kathmandu. For over four decades, the institution has provided education from Play Group (PG) to Grade 12. For students in Grades 11 and 12, the school offers Science and Management streams in affiliation with the National Examinations Board (NEB). The school operates with the guiding philosophy that "Education is not an object but an objective," focusing on purposeful learning and student development.

The school is recognized for its consistent academic performance in both SEE and NEB examinations, with many students achieving high grades. The management and faculty prioritize a result-oriented approach, focusing on clearing subject concepts rather than encouraging rote learning.

Inarguably, the history opines a huge journey of combined effort, dedication and  perseverance of sweat and intellectuality to shape this academic institution.

Nava Jyoti has escalated with the trend of leaps and bounds achievement of academic results in SLC and 10 +2 exams securing the position within  Top- Ten and keeping up the same form in SEE exams glistening with the cent percent successful results with 4 GPA, A+ and A grade holders. On the same boat, NEB management of 10 + 2 has achieved reputation with the maximum number of A+ and A grade holders.

Nava Jyoti integrates the esteemed, experienced and dynamic management team and faculties to nurture the young mind of the pupils in DIGI-TECH sphere enriched with practical learnings and experiences tuning creativity, enhancing critical thinking skill and fostering innovative approach in them.
