Halesi Tuwachung Municipality has announced the award of scholarships worth one lakh rupees each to two deserving students. The initiative, aimed at fostering higher education in technical fields, marks a pivotal step towards enhancing employment-oriented education within the municipality.
The receivers of this inaugural scholarship program are Vikesh Silwal from Ward No. 4, Badhare, and Heman Rai from Ward No. 6, Mangaltar. Their selection underscores the municipality's commitment to investing in the future of its youth and the broader community.
Mayor Vimala Rai, in a recent statement, highlighted the municipality's dedication to promoting quality education across various sectors. "The focus on employment-oriented education is major, and by facilitating scholarships for higher studies in five crucial fields, Medical Science, Agriculture and Veterinary Science, Forestry and Environmental Science, Engineering, and Information Technology, we aim to prepare our students for the challenges of tomorrow," Mayor Rai commented.
This educational initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance the overall quality of education within Halesi Tuwachung. Mayor Rai proudly noted the significant improvements in the educational standards of community schools operated by the municipality. From a modest pass rate of 22% in previous year, the latest examination results show a commendable increase, with 40.63% of students passing all subjects, an achievement that speaks volumes about the ongoing efforts to uplift educational standards.
During the academic session 2080/81, a total of 2,705 students from various community schools from Grade 4 to 9 across the municipality sat for their exams, out of which 1,099 students successfully passed.
