The fourth edition of Skill Week, which was organized by Glocal After School, an entity of Glocal Pvt Ltd aimed at promoting extensive skilling opportunities and showcasing emerging skills, concluded with a splendid closing ceremony held at The Soaltee Kathmandu on Sunday. The ceremony was attended by renowned entrepreneurs, government diplomats, and over 100 enthusiastic participants. Honorable Rekha Sharma, Minister for Information and Communication, and Honorable Indira Rana Magar, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, were also present at the event.

Skill Week is an exciting week-long event filled with a wide range of activities, including workshops focused on various skills, competitions highlighting specific skills, exhibitions showcasing skills, informative sessions held at the learning hub, and entertaining components, all of which come together to create an informative and entertaining week that celebrates skills. The four pillars of Skill Week are Art and Culture, Tourism and Hospitality, Science and Technology, and Entrepreneurship, and this year's edition, held from March 13th to March 19th, 2023, will feature experts in these fields sharing their knowledge with curious young learners.

Skill Week was a multifaceted event that offered a variety of engaging activities. These included workshops, competitions, exhibitions, food and games, case study presentations, music, concerts, and fun elements. Essentially, the event provided an opportunity to explore the world of skills while enjoying a festive and enjoyable atmosphere.

During the event, the focus was on four specific skill areas: Art and Culture, Entrepreneurship, Tourism and Hospitality, and Science and Technology. As a result, Glocal After School recognized four distinguished individuals as Skill Heroes in the presence of Mr. Thomas Kring from the International Labour Organization (ILO).

In recognition of their outstanding contributions in their respective skill areas, four individuals were named Skill Heroes during the event. Chef Santosh Shah, a Nepalese chef based in London, was honored as a Skill Hero in the Tourism and Hospitality category, in light of his significant impact in the hospitality field. Ms. Seema Golchha was recognized for her devotion to Art and Culture, specifically for her mastery of ventriloquism and her ability to impart her skills to younger generations. Mr. Ranjit Acharya, CEO of Prisma Advertising, was awarded for his noteworthy contributions to Entrepreneurship. Lastly, Ms. Priya Adhikari, Nepal's only female rescue helicopter pilot, was recognized in the Science and Technology category for her courage and dedication to saving mountaineers.

Glocal Pvt. Ltd. has continued its tradition of inviting influential CEOs and entrepreneurs to inspire young entrepreneurs, successfully completing the eighth edition of 'CEO Unplugged' at The Soaltee Kathmandu on the same day in 2023. This year's theme was 'Today Meets Tomorrow', and the event featured six renowned entrepreneurs, two exceptional moderators, and government officials and diplomats as speakers. Over 100 aspiring entrepreneurs participated in this highly anticipated event to network, learn, and exchange ideas with prominent business leaders from the country.

The CEO Unplugged event featured two panel discussions, each focusing on different aspects of Sustainability and Leadership. The discussions aimed to introduce young entrepreneurs to sustainable business practices that prioritize environmental and social responsibility, while also maintaining financial viability. Additionally, the panels explored the concept of transformational leadership, emphasizing the importance of cultivating a culture of accountability, ownership, and workplace autonomy to inspire change. The event provided a valuable platform for attendees to learn from experienced CEOs, gaining insight into their knowledge, strategies, and tactics for business growth and sustainability. Participants also had the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with prominent figures in the industry, exchanging innovative ideas, resources, and networking opportunities.

The event was a collaborative effort between Skill Week, The Embassy of India, The International Labour Organization, UNHCR, and Anurodh Nepal as a Strategic Partner. Ace Institute of Management served as the Knowledge Partner, Neosphere as the Ecosystem Partner, Worldlink as the Internet Partner, and Honda, Kathmandu World School, RastriyaBanijya Bank Limited, Rakuten Viber as Partners, and Yeti Airlines as the Airlines Partner. The Soaltee Kathmandu played a crucial role as the Hospitality Partner, while Dish Home, eSewa, Jobs Dynamics, Sakchha, EventsMo, and Cozy Home supported the event.
