The Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) has decided to delay the increase in fees for PCL Nursing, PCL in General Medicine (HA), and Diploma in Pharmacy.
On July 20, the council issued a notification stating that the earlier decision on fee adjustment has been temporarily postponed. The adjustment of fees will now be made after engaging in discussions with the stakeholders.
On July 14, the Council's grading and relations division released a notice announcing the adjustments in fees for three subjects. As per the information provided, the CTEVT had raised the fees by Rs 1,49,230 for Nursing, Rs 1,19,000 for HA, and Rs 86,500 for Pharmacy. According to the information, the fee for the three-year certificate level was Rs 6,24,230 for Nursing, Rs 5,23,820 for HA, and Rs 4,23,660 for Pharmacy. However, the increased fee has not been implemented yet.
Medical education reformer Dr. Govinda KC released a statement, condemning CTEVT's decision to make such a move without consulting the Medical Education Commission, deeming it inappropriate and disgraceful.
Within the framework of CTEVT, numerous colleges offer education in 11 health-related subjects. These educational institutes provide courses in Nursing, General Medicine, Pharmacy, Medical Lab Technology, Diagnostic Radiography, Ophthalmic Science, Dental Science, Ayurveda, Acupuncture, Physiotherapy, and Yoga and Naturopathy.
