According to a new provision enforced by the Office of the Dean, Faculty of Law in 2018 AD, Students wishing to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) must pass the entrance exam.
The Dean's Office has allocated limited seats for the LLB program among various colleges running the program. The quota system was introduced to increase the quality of education in law.
Publication of Results:
A separate merit list for each campus/college will be published, showing candidates who secured ≥40% marks in the entrance exam.
The list will include candidates’ marks and clearly indicate the reservation quotas as per the entrance exam merit rankings.
This list will be shared with the respective campuses/colleges to facilitate admissions.
Tie-Breaking Criteria for Equal Marks:
If candidates have equal entrance exam scores, their merit order will be determined by the following priority:
a) Bachelor’s degree percentage/CGPA
b) +2/Proficiency Certificate percentage/CGPA
c) SEE/SLC percentage/CGPA
d) Bachelor’s degree obtained from a government/community campus
Admissions for Vacant Seats:
If seats remain vacant after initial admissions, campuses may admit eligible candidates from other campuses’ merit lists.
The campus must issue a public admission notice and fill vacancies strictly based on merit order.
Application Process:
Only candidates on the entrance exam merit list may apply to their preferred campus/college within the specified deadline.
Campuses must publicly display the list of applicants who met the deadline and submit this list to the Dean’s Office, Faculty of Law, before admissions begin.
Post-Admission Reporting:
Campuses must submit details of all admitted students to the Dean’s Office within 15 days of completing admissions.
Compliance and Grievances:
The Dean’s Office holds authority to investigate complaints about rule violations during admissions.
If admissions are found non-compliant, they will be automatically canceled, and fees must be fully refunded to affected students.
Vacant seats from cancellations will be filled as per rules under the Dean’s Office directives.
Final Authority:
The Examination Committee’s decisions on entrance exam matters are final.
Entrance exam results will also determine eligibility for scholarships administered by Nepal’s Ministry of Education.
Question Paper Set Identification:
Clearly write the question paper set code in the designated space on the answer booklet.
Answer booklets with incorrect set codes or blank set boxes will not be evaluated.
