The Faculty of Law is one of the oldest faculties of T.U., established in 1959 A.D. as an Institute of Law and renamed as the Faculty of Law in 1974 A.D. The Faculty of Law is located at Exhibition Road, Kathmandu in the downtown of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

The Law College was established in 1954 AD with offering LL.B courses with an affiliation to the Patna University of India. In 1959, the Faculty of Law became one of the oldest faculties of T.U. Since the Law College came under the T.U after the establishment of T.U. It was renamed in 1974 AD as the faculty of law.

Objectives:

The Faculty of Law, T.U. has the following basic objectives:

  • to produce human resources equipped with important skills, competency, and integrity
  • to impart a sense of social responsibility 
  • to develop an excellent legal base with international and indigenous understanding;
  • to promote research and understand insights of law and society;
  • to prepare competent human resources in the field of law and justice
