ABOUT

The Himalayan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (HICAST) was founded with the goal of producing qualified human resources capable of catalyzing the overall process of sustainable development, particularly agricultural development and the promotion of agro-based industries and marketing. HICAST is a non-profit academic school that focuses on service. 

HICAST is dedicated to providing its graduates with a high-quality education. They have generated over 500 graduates, both bachelor and master's degree holders, and we are pleased to report that they have excelled in their respective fields. Some of them have received full scholarships to study in the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Austria, Norway, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, China, and India. HICAST graduates have also joined the government and other various private institutions with great success where they have worked in various districts.

Objectives

The Himalayan College of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (HICAST) has the following goals in addition to serving humanity and the nation and maintaining Mother Earth in its original state:

  • Produce graduates in the fields of agriculture, veterinary science, and food/dairy/meat technology who are both intellectually and practically competent.
  • Provide pupils with sufficient opportunity and a fresh perspective in order for them to meet the challenges of the new millennium.
  • Strengthen ties with national and international institutions, as well as undertake collaborative and participatory research, workshops, and seminars.
  • Develop the college into a center of academic excellence in order to promote long-term economic viability and mutual respect among people of all ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Admission Guidelines

Undergraduate Studies

Students who have finished the Intermediate in Science program 10+2 (Science), I.Sc., I.Sc.Ag., or equivalent with a second division grade are eligible to apply. Admission is granted on the basis of applicants' performance in the Purbanchal University entrance exams.

In-service candidates in governmental or other scholarship programs are given additional consideration. Such individuals, however, must also pass the university entrance exam.

Post-graduate Studies

Candidates who have taken the following exams from Purbanchal University or any other institute or university recognized by Purbanchal University are eligible to apply for M.Sc. programs: Agriculture, Animal Science, Food/Dairy Science, Biotechnology; B.V. Sc. & A.H.; B. Tech. (Food/Dairy).

Purbanchal University conducts an entrance examination for applicants seeking admission. Students will be admitted based on their academic performance.

Meet the program's prerequisites as specified by the university, college, and other relevant authorities/institutions.

Fill out the application form on the HICAST campus.

Finish the admission exam and earn a spot on the merit list.
