ABOUT

G. P. Koirala College of Agriculture and Research Centre (GPCAR) was established as a central unit of Purbanchal University with a mission to produce highly qualified human resources to address the agricultural, food, and nutritional challenges faced by society and to support the nation through providing academically sound and technically proficient professionals in the farming sector.

Since its inception, GPCAR has been dedicated to excellence in teaching, learning, and research activities. The college initially offered a B.Sc. Hons in Agriculture program, aimed at developing skilled graduates who can contribute significantly to Nepal's agricultural landscape. In 2024, GPCAR expanded its academic portfolio to include a Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition, and Dietetics (B.Sc. FND), further broadening its impact and commitment to addressing critical issues related to food security, nutrition, and health.

With a focus on theoretical knowledge and practical application, GPCAR provides a comprehensive educational experience that prepares students to tackle real-world agricultural problems effectively. The college's dedication to fostering innovation and research ensures that graduates are well-equipped to contribute to advancing agriculture and nutrition in Nepal and beyond.

Admission Guidelines

Eligibility

Students who have passed +2 Science or I.Sc . Agriculture having at least 45% marks or (minimum C in each subject, and total GPA 2.0 or above in grading system) and should have obtained pass score .on University entrance examination conducted by Purbanchal University. The entrance exam will consist of 100 multiple choice questions (MCQ) to be attempted in two hours duration.

Admission Procedure

Prospectus and Application form is available from GPCAR administration in Gothgaun. Interested and eligible candidates may purchase Application form with Prospectus on submission of Rs.1500/- (non-refundable amount) by cash or bank voucher. Application form completed in all respects must be submitted to the college administration office till announced date office hour.

Admission will be based entirely on merit list and percentage ratios of entrance result for reservation and other categories. At present, three batches are running in its own permises.

SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

5% scholarship for open category will be based on merit list and 5% scholarship for reserved category will be decided according to norms of Purbanchal University.
