The College of Journalism and Mass Communication (CJMC) is a pioneer in media education of Nepal. It was established in 2001 with the objective of producing professional print and broadcast journalists as well as development communication agents in the country, who move on to positions of leadership and influence.

CJMC has always measured its success by its students' academic achievement and the level of professionalism they demonstrate in their area of employment, both of which have remained exceptional throughout time. The college promises to instill professionalism in media activities and to give students with an integrated and practical grasp of journalism.

The institution takes pleasure in the fact that it is the only college in the country that focuses only on media education. Around 400 of our alumni and post-graduates are working as media communication experts around the country, according to the College of Journalism and Mass Communication.

  • In Nepal, it was the first to provide a Master's of Arts in Mass Communication and Journalism.

  • Published the FIRST Media Calendar in Nepal. It cataloged crucial historical media events and turning points in Nepali media in a chronological order.

  • 32 students have received scholarships to study overseas.

Admission Guidelines

CJMC announces admissions for BA/MCJ, MA/MCJ, and MA/Dev.Com in accordance with Purbanchal University's academic schedule. During office hours, eligible candidates can pick up admission applications and relevant brochures from the CJMC office (7:00-10:00 am). After that, the College releases a list of students who are qualified to take the admission exam, and they are given ID cards.

Students that are chosen should be able to secure admission before the deadline. Those on the waiting list will be admitted if there are any openings.
