St. Xavier's College, Maitighar, Kathmandu, has announced admissions open for Grade 11 for the academic session 2083 BS.

The college has stated that admissions will be based solely on SEE GPA, shortlisting, and interviews. No written entrance examination will be conducted.

Important Highlights

  • Admission is fully merit-based.
  • Selection will be based on SEE GPA/CGPA/percentage and interview performance.
  • No entrance test will be conducted.
  • Candidates can apply for only one group:
    • Biology
    • Computer Science
  • The selected group cannot be changed under any circumstances.

Application Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Fill in all required information correctly
  • Upload all necessary documents
  • Provide a valid and active email address
  • Pay a non-refundable application fee of NPR 125 via Khalti or eSewa

Students must submit:

  • Original SEE (or equivalent) mark sheet
  • If the original mark sheet is unavailable, an online copy verified with the school's official stamp and principal's signature

Incorrect information or forged documents will lead to automatic disqualification.

Eligibility Criteria

All students fulfilling the eligibility criteria set by CDC/NEB may apply for admission.

Admission shortlisting will be based entirely on:

  • SEE GPA/CGPA/percentage
  • Merit ranking

Computer Science Group

  • 150 Seats

Biology Group

  • 300 Seats

Scholarship Seats

  • 50 Seats

Scholarship seats are available only for candidates selected and recommended by the Education Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

Shortlisting Process

  • No entrance test will be conducted.
  • Shortlisting will be strictly merit-based.
  • SEE GPA/CGPA/percentage will be the sole basis for:
    • Shortlisting
    • Selection
    • Admission

The shortlist will be published on the college website within 3 days after the application deadline.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview along with their parents or guardians.

Tie-Breaking Criteria for Equal GPA

For NEB Students

If two or more candidates secure the same GPA, ranking will be determined according to grades obtained in the following order:

  1. Compulsory Science and Technology
  2. Compulsory Mathematics
  3. Compulsory English
  4. Compulsory Nepali
  5. Compulsory Social Studies / Optional Mathematics (Technical SEE)
  6. Optional I
  7. Optional II

For CBSE and Other Foreign Board Students

Foreign board percentages will be converted into the NEB grading system.

For equal GPA cases, ranking will be determined based on grades in the following order:

  1. Science

Interview Details

Shortlisted candidates must appear for the interview with their parent(s) or guardian on the scheduled date and time.

Late arrivals or absentees will not receive alternative arrangements.

Documents Required During Interview

Candidates must bring:

  • SEE Grade Sheet
  • Original SEE Admit Card
  • Verified online SEE mark sheet (if original unavailable)
  • SXC Entrance Admit Card (color print)
  • Equivalence Certificate (for foreign board students)
  • Character Certificate (if available)

Interview Focus Areas

The interview will assess:

  • Subjective knowledge
  • Learning aptitude and attitude
  • Readiness to adapt to Xavierian discipline and culture
  • Parent/guardian support, concern, and educational vision

Final Admission Process

After the interview, the college will publish the final admission list on its website under three categories:

  • Selected
  • Waiting List
  • Not Selected

The interview rank of candidates will not be published.

Admission Timeline

  • Two days will be provided for completing admission after publication of the final list.
  • Admission fees can be paid:
    • Online, with hardcopy voucher submission
    • Directly at the bank counter inside the college premises

Candidates from the waiting list will be contacted according to priority if seats remain vacant.

Important Provisions

  • Admission will be automatically cancelled if submitted documents are found fake or forged.
  • Fees once paid are non-refundable.
  • All decisions regarding admissions will be made by the Admission Committee 2083.

Additional Notice

  • Any attempt to influence the admission process will result in disqualification.
  • St. Xavier's College is not associated with any coaching or bridge course institute.
  • The college does not provide parking facilities for applicants. Students are encouraged to use public transportation or pick-and-drop arrangements.
