Vishwa Jyoti Higher Secondary School (VJHSS), located in Devchuli Municipality, Nawalpur district, is a reputable educational institution that has been shaping young minds since its establishment in 2051 B.S. (1994 A.D.). Initially operated under the name Nawal English Boarding School (NEBS), which itself dates back to 2039 B.S. (1982 A.D.), the institution evolved through mergers and expansions, finally becoming Vishwa Jyoti English Boarding School in 2057 B.S. (2000 A.D.). In 2064 B.S. (2007 A.D.), it was upgraded to a higher secondary school with affiliations to the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB), offering academic programs in Science and Management streams. According to the 2081 B.S. IEMIS report, the school currently serves 1,516 students.
With the guiding vision of "Doing the Right Things at the Right Time," VJHSS is committed to building a strong academic and moral foundation among students from early childhood. The school emphasizes the development of discipline, manners, culture, and values. Its mission is to identify and nurture the inherent potential of each student, providing a multidisciplinary learning environment that prepares them for both national and global opportunities. Special focus is placed on delivering quality education at an affordable cost, especially for students from rural and suburban areas.
Spread across 2 bighas of land, the school’s infrastructure consists of eight separate blocks with 76 rooms, supporting an array of facilities including classrooms, a library, science and computer labs, an audio-visual room, and hostel accommodations. Additional features such as a temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, foster students' moral development and spiritual consciousness. The school ensures student well-being with hygienic cafeteria services, clean sanitation facilities, filtered drinking water, and a 25 KVA generator to manage power supply during outages.
The school's holistic educational approach is guided by a team of morally driven, professional educators. Both scholastic and co-scholastic programs are emphasized in alignment with Nepal’s national curriculum. Sports and extracurricular activities are considered vital for developing life skills, discipline, and leadership among students.
Vishwa Jyoti Higher Secondary School continues to uphold its legacy of over two decades in academic excellence and character building, staying true to its motto: "Towards Excellence."
