Tribhuvan University, Institute of Science and Technology has launched two new programs: Master of Science in Mountain and Mountaineering Science (MSc MMS) and Master of Information Technology (MIT).
As a center for mountains, it is necessary to conduct studies related to mountaineering and adventure tourism in Nepal. The program is a first, not only for Nepal but for the whole world and TU plans to make this program global. The course will focus on mountains, environment, glaciers and production of materials used in mountains as well as other topics related to mountain science.
Subjects like core adventure course, contemporary tourism development, mountaineering management, sustainable mountain tourism development, cultural heritage tourism, etc. are included under the curriculum. Master of Science in Mountain and Mountaineering Science (MSc MMS) program will be taught at Nepal Mountain Academy (NMA).
Similarly, with the increasing demand for IT professionals in Nepal and the lack of Nepali universities offering post-graduate education, TU has also launched an MIT program. In this academic year, TU IOST will run MIT programs in these five colleges. The program will have subjects like Digital Economy & Marketing, Cloud & Mobile Computing, Cyber Security & Digital Forensics, Human-Computer Interaction, and Digital Governance.

Admissions for both courses have been opened from February 23, 2023 until March 22, 2023 with normal fees. Forms can be filled out online.
